Ongoing Events and Entertainment
Come just to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play every Tuesday and Saturday beginning at 7pm. Admission is $5 on Tuesday and $6 on Saturday. Line Dancing classes are also offered on Monday nights beginning at 6pm. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

Barns and other buildings around the county display squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany country-side are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.

Veterans' Morning Coffee & Breakfast
at the VFW
The VFW hosts an informal full breakfast including, biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, and coffee every Wednesday from 8:30-11am. All veterans are invited to attend.

The VFW Military Museum is open to the public, 10am-2pm, every Wednesday and Saturday in the basement of the VFW Post 7034, 1193 US Highway 21 S, Sparta, NC. Admission is free.

, Sparta Presbyterian Church joins with friends of The Mountain Laurel Moravian Fellowship for our annual Lovefeast. We will be led in the beautiful lovefeast tradition of singing carols, reading the scripture, partaking of coffee and buns as we enjoy the music of The Araniska Winds. The service will be at Sparta Presbyterian Church, 160 S. Main Street, at 6:00 pm on December 17. All are welcome.
