Local blue grass and old time musicians jam each Monday, 2 blocks north of the Courthouse at the Crouse House in Crouse Park, beginning at 6pm. Come and play or just listen. No charge, but a donation is appreciated. 336-372-5473
Come just to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play every Tuesday and Saturday beginning at 7pm. Admission is $5 on Tuesday and $6 on Saturday. Line Dancing classes are also offered on Monday nights beginning at 6pm. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

Town Survey
The Town of Sparta will hold a meeting open to the public on March 6, 2018 in Sparta Town Hall (304 S. Main Street) at 7 p.m. to discuss and obtain public comment on a proposed Parks and Recreation Trust Fund project for improvements at Crouse Park. Town residents are encouraged to attend and complete an online parks and recreation survey. The survey can be accessed by visiting

The quilts are made for persons affected by war.

Join us for the Hillbilly Hoedown with 
Rise and Shine Band every Tuesday night. Admission $5 on Tuesday, $6 on Saturday, age 12 and under free.

GREAT ACTIVITIES TO DO ANYTIME
Barn Quilt Trails 
Barns and other buildings around the county display squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Driving Loops
Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany country-side are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Be sure to visit when planning a trip this Spring or Summer. Open Thursday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. There's never an admission charge. Stop by to experience local history and to see the new displays, 7 North Main Street, Sparta.
The VFW Military Museum is open to the public, 10am-2pm, every Wednesday and Saturday in the basement of the VFW Post 7034, 1193 US Highway 21 S, Sparta, NC. Admission is free.
