Alleghany Democratic Meeting
The Alleghany Democratic monthly meeting will be held, Wednesday, April 18 , in the Town Hall conference room (downstairs). Meet and greet with light refreshments at 6:00 with the meeting beginning at 6:30 pm. All welcome!!

Sparta Presbyterian Church
April 14th at 7:00 PM
Suzanne Zak, a pianist and music educator, will present a concert on Saturday, April 14, at
7:00 pm at Sparta Presbyterian Church. Suzanne received her doctorate in Music and Music Education at Columbia University in 2015. As an educator, Suzanne specializes in higher education, music e-learning, teaching online music at Adelphi University in New York and Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania. The concert will feature works of Sergei Rachmaninoff and George Gershwin.

The concert is free but donations will be accepted to benefit a community organization. Everyone is welcome.

The Alleghany Writer's Club meets each third Thursday of each month from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at the Alleghany County Library.
Alleghany County Broker's Tour
Greenfield Acres Realty is very excited to start our monthly County Broker's Tour! This will be held every third Thursday morning of the month from 8:30 -11ish.  
 
        OUR FIRST TOUR WILL BE HELD THURSDAY, ARIL 19TH.   
 
The KICK-OFF will begin at my office at 8:30. We will have coffee and morning treats and visit until 8:45 and begin the first home tour at 9:00. 
 
There will be a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Bed Bath and Beyond for all Brokers who participate!

Ongoing Events and Entertainment
Local blue grass and old time musicians jam each Monday, 2 blocks north of the Courthouse at the Crouse House in Crouse Park, beginning at 6pm. Come and play or just listen. No charge, but a donation is appreciated. 336-372-5473
Come just to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play every Tuesday and Saturday beginning at 7pm. Admission is $5 on Tuesday and $6 on Saturday. Line Dancing classes are also offered on Monday nights beginning at 6pm. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

GREAT ACTIVITIES TO DO ANYTIME
Barn Quilt Trails 
Barns and other buildings around the county display squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Driving Loops
Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany country-side are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Be sure to visit when planning a trip this Spring or Summer. Open Thursday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. There's never an admission charge. Stop by to experience local history and to see the new displays, 7 North Main Street, Sparta.
The VFW Military Museum is open to the public, 10am-2pm, every Wednesday and Saturday in the basement of the VFW Post 7034, 1193 US Highway 21 S, Sparta, NC. Admission is free.
