20's and 30's Gathering for a Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held at the Rectory on Friday, May 5th beginning at 6:00 p.m. Childcare will be provide free of charge in the Gabard Building. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us.

Sunday, May 7, 2017 we invite anyone who has a birthday in the month of May to come forward during worship at the appropriate time of the service to receive a Birthday Prayer.

Adult Sunday School will meet on May 7 and May 21st beginning at 11:15 a.m. The topic of discussion will be "Chariots of Fire". There will be no Adult Sunday School on May 14th.
Please join us in the front of the Parish Hall each Sunday at 11:15 a.m.

Youth Sunday - UTO Offering
|
Youth Sunday will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2017 during the 10:00 a.m. worship service. During this service a
UTO offering will be collected by the Youth. Please come and see what the Youth will share. The Children's Choir will sing.

The Parking Lot (rear lot off College) is closed
for renovation of the Parking Lot. 
On Sunday's please park in the front lot off Patterson, the small lot beside the rectory, the VSU Admissions Office Lot (on the other side of the Rectory), or in the VSU Music Annex Lot (located on the other side of the Methodist Wesley House).
During the week, please park in the front lot off Patterson St.

Sine Nomine Singers of Valdosta, conducted by David Lee Johnson, will be having their spring concert on Sunday, May 14th, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in downtown Valdosta. All are welcome! The concert is free, though contributions are welcome.

EYC - This Sunday, May 7th we are playing disc golf at Freedom Park at 4 pm.
May 14th is Youth Sunday! Philip will be in the parish hall after the 10 am service to sign children and students up to participate. Also the deadline to sign up for the high school mission trip is Sunday, May 14th.
On Saturday, May 20th, we will have an EYC pool party at Mike and Amber Tanner's house from 4-7 pm.
Reminder: EYC meets Wednesday nights at 6:45 pm-8:15 pm.

Thank you to everyone who provided food over the Spring semester. This week we said goodbye to several college students as they head home for summer.

We need fruit cups for Lunch Bunch. Please consider picking up a six pack of fruit cups when you do your family grocery shopping. The children love the fruit and the Lunch Bunch volunteers appreciate it.

Toothbrushes and Floss: The Dominican Republic Mission Team is collecting toothbrushes and dental floss to take with them to the DR in June.
If you have toothbrushes and dental floss, or sample packets that you receive from your dentist; that you would like to donate to the DR team, please drop them off at the church office before June 5
th
.

| Nebraska Team Visits Our House |
| The "Tiny House" Returns on Sunday, May 7 |
|
Members of the Nebraska mission team who partnered with us for several years to build the wooden school play structure, two houses, and the day care center visited in El Pedregal on May 1 to make plans for their June 2017 mission trip (the week after we leave). While in El Pedregal, they sent several photographs of Leidy and her family and the house we have under construction. Leidy sent even more photographs on May 3, and these show the final rows of concrete blocks in place on the top of the walls of the house. These photographs are here:
We need an additional $560 to have all the funds on hand that we have committed for the construction of this house. The "tiny house" model along with photographs of the actual house under construction will be in the parish hall starting on Sunday, May 8, and contributions of all amounts -- small and large -- will be gratefully accepted as we move along toward the conclusion of this project.
