Community Fundraiser

The 12th Annual Community Fundraiser and Benefit Auction will be held 
Saturday, March 25, 2017
from 6:30 to 10:30 PM
 at the  California Academy of Sciences
55 Music Concourse Drive
Golden Gate Park
San Francisco
 
6:30 to 10:30 PM

The parking garage will be open during our event and offers a flat evening rate of $17.00.

Casual attire with comfortable shoes are perfect for this evening.

If your bought tickets on-line or through the mail you will check-in using your name.  You do not need a print-out or a receipt.
You will be invited to leave a credit card at check-in for any auction purchases to speed up check-out.

Adults who wish to consume wine, beer or liquor need to get a wristband in the lobby.

Fund-a-Need
This year our Fund-a-Need will raise money for makerspace at Armstrong.  What is makerspace?  Makerspace is
  • a place where students can create and build
  • a place for challenges
  • a place for imagination
  • 3-D printers and laser cutters
  • textiles and modeling clay
  • circuits and gears.
After the Lion King, Jr . preview at 8:15 we will share a short video that helps introduce makerspace to Armstrong.


Sports Corner:
Wrestling: 
Practice has started and is being held in the multi every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 5:30. Athletes should come prepared to practice wearing a t-shirt and either gym shorts or sweats. The season schedule should be available within the week; gear will be passed out soon. Wrestlers need to be responsible for keeping track of their gear (wrestling shoes, head gear, knee pads, etc) after that, through the end of the season (second week in May, league tournament)

EdRev 2017 Art Contest Registration
EdRev 2017 is coming up soon at AT&T Park!! It's a day to celebrate your Learning Differences, listen to speakers, run the bases, participate in fun activities, and view amazing artwork from LD students from other schools. The annual art contest is looking for submissions in 5 categories: visual arts, music, written word, video, and learning differently.
 
We will be submitting a selection of visual art projects made in art class, but it you'd like to submit work in another category - GREAT!! Only one piece per category, so please check in with us if you have any questions.  Videos, music and word documents can be submitted online ( see attachment) but we'll need to know of all Armstrong entries (so we can make sure to collect them after the event). We can also assist you in submitting your work online, so come see us if you have any questions!
 
Deadline to the ART ROOM is Thursday, March 30. Online submissions are due Friday, March 31.


Summer School and Summer Camp Registration

As a reminder, in order to ensure availability for your child, please register and make payment for the Charles Armstrong Summer School Program as soon as possible.   Registration has opened to the outside community.  Enrollment will then be contingent upon space available.  You may register now by clicking here and completing the registration form.   *Full payment is due at the time of registration.
 
Dates of Summer School: July 5, 2017 - July 28, 2017 for rising 2nd-7th graders 
 
Morning Academic Program - includes Language Arts, Math and Strength-Based classes
8:30 - 12:30, Monday -Friday
Tuition is $2,750
 
Afternoon Camp Program
12:30pm - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
Tuition is $1,650
The afternoon camp may only be selected when enrolling in the Morning Academic Program.
 
*If you are currently awarded financial aid with Charles Armstrong, your child's summer school tuition will also be eligible for financial aid at the percentage rate of your current award.  If this applies to your family, please contact Madonna Uyenoyama in the business office at 650-592-7570 x1228 to assist you in calculating your summer school tuition payment.  For any other questions regarding Summer School, please contact Regina Lewis at 650-592-7570 x 1234

 Please sign into Student Services prior to going to your child's classroom or anytime you're on campus. 
You are required to sign in at Student Services for safety reasons. Also, we appreciate knowing ahead of time if your child needs to leave early. This will help minimize interruptions during the school days.

sweatshirts and jacket!!
Each week the bin is emptied.
Labeled clothing is washed and
returned to the classrooms.
Clothing that is not labeled is
donated to the Uniform Bank.

Please remember to phone in your child's absence to the Attendance Line at 650-592-7570 Option 1 by 9:00am each day your child is absent, going to be late, or out of the classroom for testing or vacation. Please State:

exit your car at drop-off only from the passenger side.
