Congratulations to our very own Ann Rinaldi for being selected as WITN's Teacher of the Week!  Ann has been with Oakwood for ten years now and is such an asset to our faculty.  If you missed Ann's interview this morning, simply click HERE to watch.  When asked what her favorite part of being a teacher is, Ann replied "the true excitement you can see when a child understands a new concept for the first time."  Oakwood is so lucky to have you Ann, congratulations!

Remember, there are only 4 more Mondays in the school year (but hey, who's counting!?!) and as April winds down, please remember to check the Events Calendar for upcoming activities going on throughout the school.  The PSA Spring Bake Sale is tomorrow, so grab some goodies to share over break!  We also have Open House on April 22nd and Family Cinema night on the 25th, so invite your friends to both of these events!

Spring Fling Wrap Up

The beautiful weather, green grass, and smell of delicious  barbecue set the stage for an amazing Spring Fling on Friday!  Students enjoyed a cold Kona Ice in between batting, playing games and cheering on our teams!  The Eagle Booster Club would like to thank the Oakwood Community for their overwhelming support of the 3rd Annual Spring Fling & Home Run Derby!  Under the leadership of Booster Club Vice-President, Jennifer Corey, and her diligent team of volunteers, the day produced a gross income of over $10,000!  All proceeds will go directly to the Booster Club to use for additions and improvements to Oakwood's athletic programs. Thanks to Parker's BBQ and an efficient pick-up line, over 560 dinners were served, and the Home Run Derby served pitches to 117 batters!  The afternoon gave us all the opportunity to cheer on our teams' victories and support our school! GO EAGLES!

Congratulations to the MS students who made up the Elementary Science Olympiad team for their great showing at the competition last week.  The following team members placed in these individual portions of the competition:
