Annual Meeting success with Matt Cullen, Rock Ventures

Thanks to everyone who came out for the Chamber's Annual Meeting, and a big congratulations to our 2017 Board of Directors! ( See list of the new Directors here)The 125th Annual Meeting luncheon was capped with the encouraging words of Matt Cullen, who told the crowd of the multiple successes that are happening in Detroit with growth since what he called its "activation".   He said, "If we're going to compete as a region we need our (suburban) areas like Macomb....We sink or swim together."

UHY appoints 2 new managing directors in Michigan

UHY Advisors appointed six new managing directors, including two in its Michigan practice, the Chicago-based tax and advisory company announced Wednesday.    Pamela May and Keith Moore, both partners of UHY LLP, will lead the tax and advisory company's three Michigan offices in Detroit, Sterling Heights and Farmington Hills.   May, who has been with the firm and its predecessors since 1997, will head the tax and attest services for manufacturing, real estate and wholesale distribution industries. She also serves as finance committee chairwoman for the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, Macomb County Foundation and Macomb County Advocacy for Business.
McLaren Macomb launches vein center

McLaren Macomb announced the opening of the McLaren Macomb Vein Center in Clinton Township for the treatment of all forms of chronic venous disease (CVD).   The McLaren Macomb Vein Center is located at 38770 Garfield, Suite 100 (just south of 17 Mile Road) in Clinton Twp.

MacArthur Park Project Fundraiser

WaterTowns™, a water-oriented community development initiative, was created in 2013 by us at the Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) as a way to connect and enhance public access to the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair.  The group is raising funds for a universally accessible kayak launch in downtown Mount Clemens at MacArthur Park and have partnered with Macomb County and Mt. Clemens. We have until the end of January to reach our goal of raising $60,000 which will be matched by the MEDC with $50,000. The link to the project page is here. Your help is appreciated!   

St Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade 

Even though the Parade is months away, mark your calendars for Sunday, May 28, 2017. This year is the 65th anniversary of this event and the theme will be: "REMEMBERING OUR FALLEN HEROES.
