Military Affairs Committee hosts Michigan's top general for annual briefing

Major General Greg Vadnais, adjutant general, Michigan National Guard, provided an update to the Macomb County Chamber Military Affairs Committee today. The group, which usually numbers around 25, expanded its attendance at this month's meeting. Attendees included Senator Debbie Stabenow, Congresswoman Candice Miller, and Lt. Governor Brian Calley among more than 40 committee members, industry representatives, elected officials and military members, in what has become an annual update to the Committee from Vadnais.   Read more here.

Christensen Law continues push for removing drunk drivers from the road with its New Year's 'Safe Ride Home' program

As a reminder, Christensen Law's "Safe Ride Home" program is available to anyone who might otherwise get behind the wheel on New Year's Eve. If you've had too much to drink, call a cab or Uber to take you from the bar to your home. Pay for the ride that night and get a receipt. The next day, simply email a copy of your receipt along with a copy of your driver's license to saferidehome@davidchristensenlaw.com to receive a reimbursement of up to $35. Offer is good from 4 p.m. on December 31, 2016 to 4 a.m. on January 1, 2017 to those 21 years old or older.
Cynthia and Edsel Ford and Family Fill Tall Order at Detroit Zoo

Longtime Detroit Zoo supporters Cynthia and Edsel Ford are sticking their necks out for the benefit of the giraffes at the Zoo with a $1 million gift which will pay for an expansion of the animals' indoor habitat. Renovations will double the giraffes' interior space, including the addition of a large area for the entire herd to be together. The work is expected to be completed by late spring.
Shore selected for MACP Board

Grace Shore, CEO of the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, has been selected as a board member for the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals. This is her third appointment to the board.
