Rock Venture's Matt Cullen to speak at Annual Meeting next week

Called a "passionate advocate for the city of Detroit and a catalyst for downtown development" ( http://www.quickenloans.com/press-room/2008/04/28/ ) by Dan Gilbert, C hairman and founder of Rock Ventures and Quicken Loans Inc. Matt Cullen  has spent the last several years c hanging public perception of Detroit through projects like the M1 Rail and the Detroit RiverFront.

Keynote speaker for the Macomb Chamber's Annual Meeting and Board Induction Ceremony Jan. 25, Matt Cullen Principal of Rock Ventures and CEO of JACK Entertainment, will  speak about what's happening the Detroit area, and how Macomb is a necessary part of growing this urban economic region.

Walsh Commencement Speaker named

Walsh College named Barbara Mahone as keynote speaker at Walsh College's 108th Commencement on Jan. 28. "Shaped by family, personal experience, and the leadership roles she has held, Barbara is committed to helping others improve the quality of their lives through education," says Stephanie Bergeron, President and CEO Walsh College.

Huntington Bank recognized

Financial research firm Greenwich Associates recently named Huntington one of the top banks for businesses nationally with the presentation of Greenwich Best Brand Awards for ease of doing business with middle-market companies and small businesses and for trust earned among middle-market customers.   The awards complement Huntington's receipt of Greenwich Excellence Awards for Wealth Management and Personal Investment Services for Overall Satisfaction, Customer Service and Client Likelihood to Recommend. 

Program to promote STEM careers with fun, hands-on activities

Macomb Community College, in partnership with Master Pneumatics Inc., will present the third annual Fluid Power Challenge, designed to introduce local sixth grade students to the world of engineering and increase awareness of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) careers. 
More than 110 sixth-graders will be tasked with solving specific engineering challenges using pressurized gases and liquids. The students are from Agnes E. Beer Middle School, Warren; Lois E. Carter Middle School, Warren; Will Carleton Middle School, Sterling Heights; and Virgil I. Grissom Middle School, Sterling Heights.
