FIRST SUNDAY IN LENT

God of Sarah and Abraham,

long ago you embraced your people in covenant

and promised them your blessing.

Strengthen us in faith,

that, with your disciples of every age,

we may proclaim your deliverance in Jesus Christ

to generations yet unborn. Amen

Last week we started a new sermon series on spiritual gifts. This Sunday we’ll take a deeper dive by looking at the types of gifts that are listed in the Bible.  Some are pretty easy for us to relate to – things like teaching, leadership, administration, giving, and encouragement. Those are gifts that we use in our ordinary, everyday life. Some gifts on the other hand, are a little more foreign to us – things like prophecy, speaking in tongues and healing for example.  Do people still have those gifts today or are they gifts that no longer have a place in our 21 ^st  century lives? Be sure and join us this Sunday as we answer this question and continue to unpack the gifts of the Spirit.

World Day of Prayer

Our church will be hosting World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 2nd at 11:00 a.m.

Campership - Soup Fundraiser

The Mission Team will be holding a soup, sandwich and ice-cream/cookie & bar lunch on March 11th after worship. This will be a free-will donation to raise money to provide children with camperships to attend United Methodist Church Camps this Summer. Please take a moment to look at the meal sign-up sheet and see where you might be able to help out providing food or serving.

Speak to God today, He is waiting to hear from you. We have been taught that God wants us to connect with him about our lives, our struggles and our successes. He is our Father and His love for us is great and powerful. Take time to talk to your Father at least once each day, tell Him all about your life, and give Him the opportunity to reply to you. Listen for His voice, and you will receive a precious gift; the gift of the Holy Spirit. This gift brings help for all your needs.
