A Message From Rev. Jen Crow:

There is a poem I love that talks about the day-to-day challenges we all face. The gray weather, the dishes, the worries. It says that unless we are careful, we can succumb to a case of the mulley-grubs. And it suggests a cure - to put on a red dress and bake a chocolate cake.

Now I may not have a red dress to wear, but this suggestion does get me thinking. What is my guaranteed cure for a case of the mulley-grubs, and what is yours? How can we get outside of our worries and trials, and lean in to the love that surrounds us, to the beauty of this world?

For me, my cure can take all different forms: a walk with the dog, reading poetry, making dinner, bringing cookies to the office, coloring with the kids, sending a friend a gallon tub of Nutella...

In the midst of this gray week, the sun is on its way. How will you welcome it? How will you cure your own, or another's, case of the mulley-grubs?

I can't wait to hear your answers.

In faith,
Rev. Jen

Reflect and Connect in a Circle This Summer

Looking for spiritual nourishment this summer?  Hoping to connect with some of the fascinating, thoughtful people of First Universalist?  Joining a summer circle may be just the thing for you!

Our circles are groups of 8 to 10 committed participants who come together with a trained leader to nurture spiritual growth in community. These groups are grounded in the spiritual practices of deep listening and open-hearted reflection.

We are offering circles that are open to everyone, as well as circles especially for newcomers, parents of school-age children, people of color, and queer young adults.  We're also offering a four-session chi-gung circle series.

How Do I Get Involved?

Online registration is open from this Sunday, May 4 through Monday, May 19.  Group sizes are limited and registration is first-come, first-served.  You may also register in the social hall on Sundays, May 4, May 11, and May 18.

For more information, please contact Rev. Elaine Aron Tenbrink at [email protected] or 612-825-1701 x124.

Housing Justice Update

Thanks to our members who participated in Housing Advocacy.  We leveraged our collective voices by joining Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity in support of the $100 million bonding bill at the State Legislature.  This bill would create new affordable housing and renovations, maintain supportive housing, and move people out of homelessness across Minnesota.
