A Message From
Rev. Elaine Aron Tenbrink

I walked into the office this afternoon, stopped in my tracks, took in a breath and whispered to myself, "Someone opened a window!"  The fragrance in the air is unmistakable as Spring begins to arrive in all its melty glory.  The ground is beginning to thaw, making way for seeds that will eventually yield fruits, flowers, and trees.

We plant seeds in our lives all the time: seeds of friendship and community, seeds of hope and commitment.  Our pledges to First Universalist are the seeds of our future.   Just imagine how beautiful the fruits of our generosity will be.

I can't wait for a powerful worship service this Sunday as we celebrate our pledge drive!  Yes, seeds will be involved, as will the Rock Band and ribbons. See you there!

A Message from Heidi Johnson, Communications Manager,
Regarding The New Website:

Today I wanted to take a minute to talk about our BLOG feature on the website-the place where we post news, information, and photo galleries.

You'll notice this feature immediately when you log on the website, on the bottom right corner, under a headline of 'News and Updates'.  I'd like to encourage you to explore this section, as we update this daily!  Any important or relevant information that we need to communicate with the congregation will always be posted here first.

Here is our website address:

And lastly, if you should need some help in navigating the new website, I highly suggest you check out the post I wrote earlier this month explaining the new website features!. You can read it by clicking here.

Thank you, and I hope you are enjoying the new site!

A Message From Assistant Finance Administrator
Brad Schmidt:
This Sunday we will be wrapping up our pledge drive for fiscal year 2014-2015. Please turn in your pledge card, if you have not done so already. We have already begun formulating our operating budget for next year and with pledges being our primary source of revenue, it is important that we get your card so we can accurately frame up a budget to serve the congregation and ministry of First Universalist Church. In the social hall following each service, coffee and cake will be served in celebration of your generous commitment to this church and community.

Thank you,

Brad Schmidt

'Thank You' to Day of Service Participants!

This past Saturday, at our 4th Annual Day of Service, 311 of us came together to provide nearly 1300 hours of service to 18 different projects. We built houses, cleaned clothing closets, packed care packages and seeds, scrubbed pews and railings and so much more. Nearly a third of our church showed up to bring the Universalist spirit of love and hope alive.  Thank you to all who participated!  To view the online photo gallery of the Day of Service, click here
