If you have worshipped at Celtic Eventide you know that at each service a short reflection is offered instead of a sermon. These are intended to offer a personal story or remembrance of when something sacred has crossed the path. The reflector asks,"when have I experienced the sacred?" Last week it was my turn to offer such a story...and I invite you to take a moment and listen in.

Thanks.

A Workshop for you with
The Rev. Tom Cushman returns

Hearing God's Voice:
Enhancing Our Sense of the Sacred

This Saturday Workshop will focus on deve loping and sharpening our personal experience of the Holy. We will consult Divine Wisdom and discover what the ancients actually meant by the Heart. We will also engage experientially with God's Presence through the use of Sacred Imagination.  Getting comfortable with our own religious experience enables us to make God real, enlivening our relationship with the Divine Mystery.

This 9am - 2pm workshop is offered
Saturday September 22.
Bring a bag lunch.
The workshop will be led by The Rev. Tom Cushman.

Equinox

A celebration of the new Season
The Autumnal Equinox is a reminder that a new season is again upon us...a season for fresh cool air, harvest, prayer and reflection. We give thanks to God for these gifts. As the arc of the sun begins to shift day by day and the birds and butterflies begin to migrate southward, we will gather in the
St. Alban's Garden for an evening of firelight, poetry, community and thanksgiving.

Pilgrimage  Share Out
September 30th
during coffee hour

This past June, St. Alban's Youth traveled to Northern Ireland on spiritual pilgrimage.
We spent a week learning about the Troubles of Northern Ireland and how concepts of peace and reconciliation might inform our own voices of faith in contexts here in the States.
You are invited to join us for a time of sharing stories, viewing our very own Pilgrimage film, and a bit prayer as we share with you all that we encountered along the pilgrim way.

Contact Katie Holicky if you have any questions or would like to help out.

Meeting time: 6:30 to 8:00 Sharp

Over the past 10 years, this ministry has had a significant impact on the lives of the students and parishioners of St. Luc's in Tru de Nord, Haiti and here at  St. Albans.  We welcome you to come and see if you would like to be an integral part of this important work.
A Beautiful 2019 Calendar celebrates our Apostles' Windows
On Sale Now!

Thinking of an early Christmas gift?

Have you ever wondered about the twelve windows at the rear of the sanctuary?
Do you know what they represent?
One of the windows shows a snake coming out of chalice.
Another shows a battle axe.
What could they mean?
Find out by purchasing a beautifully designed 2019 calendar.   The colorful pictures were taken by Peg Keyser and the research was completed by Rev. Ben Thomas.  Do you remember our summer intern from 2017?.  Here is a "colorful" story:  one Apostle met his end after being struck by a fullers' bat and then sawed in two.  Who was that and what is a fullers' bat anyway?  The mystery just gets deeper.  The calendars cost $20 each and are a wonderful gift for family and friends.  They will be on sale after services throughout the fall.  Help support St. Alban's.
