Benjamin Franklin once said, "When the well's dry, we know the worth of water".
As someone who has experienced the spiritual dehydration and exhaustion of a dry well I often find myself wondering how I possibly got there. When did my well get this low, or what will happen when that last drop drawn from the depths of me? How might I fill myself back up?

In a society that teaches us our self worth is valued on how busy we are, self care has become counter cultural. We are so well trained to fill our calendars to capacity, and because of this there are times we will no doubt find ourselves with a dry well knowing the worth of water... longing for people, spaces, and places that will fill our well so we thirst no more.

Self care is the intentional act of taking time to fill your well! It is with this in mind that I invite you to join me for a Health Chat this Sunday after 9:30 am worship. As we wonder together about the Spirituality of Self Care, we will take time to discern and reflect on the ways in which God inspires us to care for ourselves. I look forward to spending this sacred time together as we encourage each other to foster practices that help us to sustain all that we are called to do in the world.

With Peace,

You don't want to miss this.

Is your calendar filling up by the second?
Feeling like there are never enough hours in the day to accomplish all that needs accomplishing?

Spend some time with our very own Katie Holicky wondering what it means, looks like, and feels like to really take care of yourself.

Katie will be sharing her thoughts on Self Care with us from her context as a Spiritual Director.

Come prepared to take some time to reflect on your daily life in ways that inspire and encourage you to spend time caring yourself so that you may better sustain the fullness of life.

Jubilee Center/Essentials Pantry Summer Update
Our straw baskets for donations have been overflowing, thanks to all of you.

Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
The Essentials Pantry/Jubilee Center is in need of individually wrapped toothbrushes and toothpaste.  Consider picking up a package or two at the drugstore, and when next visiting your dentist, ask if he or she could spare a couple of  samples given to patients. When a dentist was asked recently, he promptly offered a case of sample size tubes of toothpaste!
It never hurts to ask.
