Dear Saint Rose Families,

It is with regret and deep appreciation that I let you know of a few people who will be making transitions to new positions next year. I am thankful for their dedication and service to our school community. They have shaped our students and made Saint Rose a better place.

Dr. Deacon Dan Brahier will be leaving Saint Rose as a teacher after 29 years of service. In addition to his work with BGSU, Dan needs a bit more time to dedicate to his ministry as a Deacon at St. Thomas More Parish. Please see Dan's message below.

My ordination as deacon and assignment to St. Thomas More University Parish in Bowling Green have caused a shift in how I spend time and energy.  At St. Thomas, I am coordinating the RCIA program, teaching, presenting to groups, planning retreats, preaching at Masses, and a variety of other responsibilities that are new to me and have required a restructuring of all that I do.  After 29 years of serving the St. Rose community through teaching the Honors Grade Eight Mathematics class, I have decided to retire from the position at the end of this school year.  I will continue with my full-time position at BGSU.  I am grateful to the hundreds of students and their families I have had the privilege of teaching over the years, as well as parish and school staffs, teachers, and administrators who have supported my work since 1989.  While I will miss the classroom, I also know that God has new adventures in store for me, and I will continue to pray for the students of our parish and school as you move forward.

Justin Combs will be the new technology coordinator for the Catholic Schools Office in the Diocese of Toledo. I look forward to working with Justin in his new capacity.

Dee Dansack will be moving to Columbus as her family makes a transition to a new job for her husband.

Allison Taylor will be stepping away from her teaching position in the preschool, but will stay on as a substitute in our school.

Heather Boissonault will be spending more time with her family after supporting our preschool for many years.

Toni Reid's family recently moved and Emma will be attending a different school district.

We have been blessed to have these caring people support our mission. We are planning an appreciation/celebration for them later this spring. Please wish them all the best of luck and prayers as they make their transitions.

Sincerely,

Bryon Borgelt

SMART Tuition - PLEASE READ!

Dear Saint Rose Families,

This coming school year, in an effort to reduce our paper waste, Saint Rose School will be sending our tuition statements electronically through Smart Tuition. Due to this change  EVERY family will need to have a Smart Tuition account even if you plan to pay tuition in full. Most families already have an account and will just need to re-enroll and verify that all of your information is correct.

If you do not know what your Smart Tuition family ID is please contact Mrs. Rakosik in the office at  (419)874-5631 or email at rakosik@saintroseonline.org

Please note that this process needs to be completed no later than  April 30, 2018 so that tuition statements can be sent out in a timely manner. If you have not completed your re-enrollment by  April 30, 2018 your account will be automatically rolled over for next school year.

Tuition for the 2018-2019 school year must be paid in full or a payment plan setup no later than  June 1, 2018.

Thank you!

Knights of Columbus Donation
L-R: Father George, Father David, Dr. Borgelt, GK Bob Bidwell

On April 9, 2018, the Perrysburg Knights of Columbus Council 7978 presented a check to Dr. Borgelt. This $2,000 donation will be used to support four $500 tuition scholarships awarded to four Saint Rose School students for the 2018/19school year. Two scholarships are designated for boys and two for girls. Scholarships will be awarded on a need-basis through the normal financial-aid evaluation process. The Knights of Columbus generated these funds through the generous support of our parishioners who attended our winter pancake breakfasts. The Knights are thrilled to provide this support and look forward to the 2018-19 pancake breakfast campaign. Join us for these fun and family-friendly breakfast events beginning in the fall and support the Knights Scholarship Fund

All Moms are invited to join their children for a donut or muffin, juice/water and coffee before school.

After school tutoring and individualize homework help:

Does your student have challenges in specific subjects or could just use some one-on-one assistance completing their homework? St. Rose is looking into putting a tutoring and homework help program in which we'd pair 7 th & 8 th grade students with K-5 th grade students who need assistance after school. Supervised under the Extended Day program, students would stay after school and be paired with an older student who would give them individualized academic help.

*Please note this program will be subject to registration and availability of tutors.

Service Hours for After School Tutors:
Our new tutoring program is looking 7 th & 8 th grade students interested in earning service hours through providing individualized homework help & tutoring to our younger students. Supervised under the Extended Day program, students would stay after school and be paired with a student who needs assistance.

*Please note this program will be subject to need of volunteers and registration of families for tutoring.
