Monday, May 8, 2018
Pastors and leaders were welcomed to Pipestem State Park Resort by Pastors Debbie Noble and Kolbi Shartzer. Pastor and Executive Director Tom Crawford shared encouraging passages from the Bible and led the pastors and leaders in a time of prayer.

A beautiful day at Pastors Conference! Pastor Terry Knighten shared a devotional on spiritually healthy individuals and churches from Acts 1 and 8. The Ministry Teams shared part one of the proposed revisions for the EFC-ER Faith and Practice. After dinner together, Tom Crawford reminded the group of the vision of EFC-ER to make disciples and challenged the group to "step out of the boat" in faith and join God on mission. Pastor Miguel and Edith Hernandez shared about the work God is doing at Iglesia Evangelica Amigos in Worcester, MA. Pastors José and Sonia Urrutia also talked about the ministry at Iglesia Evangelica Amigos in Kingston, NY. Pastor José prayed over Pastor Miguel and Edith Hernandez. We also prayed for Pastor Paul Hoffman and EFC Newport (RI) and the EFC North campus.

Day 3 of Pastors Conference! Pastor Matt Chesnes shared leadership principles from 1 Samuel 17. He challenged the pastors and leaders to fearlessly pick up the tools God has given for spiritual battle to release the floodgates of His power. The Ministry Teams shared part two of the proposed revisions for the EFC-ER Faith and Practice and facilitated a question and answer time . In the evening, EFC-ER Ministry Director Randy Heckert spoke on discipleship and shared, "The heart of discipleship is being with Christ. With-ness precedes witness."

Pastors Conference 2018 comes to a close. EFC-ER Ministry Director Ed Walsh spoke on living out of faith in our God of abundance. Pastor Rich Bennett taught the kids the parable of the sower and the seeds. EFC-ER Ministry Director Randy Heckert shared about the methodology of discipleship during the morning discipleship training sessions. Ed Walsh ended the conference with a special time of communion and guided prayer.

Thank you to the EFC-ER Staff, Leadership Development Team, and the Pastors Conference planning team, which included Pastors Kolbi Shartzer, Matt Close, and Rich Bennett. Thank you to our worship leaders, Pastors Stan Hinshaw, Andy Black, and Brian Donahue.

Benson and Annie Sam - Pray for Benson as he oversees the Friends Christian Fellowship started by his father PK. Pray for God’s grace for our Indian brethren who continue to experience hostility and opposition against the gospel.

Mariamma Sam - Continue to pray for Mariamma as she deals with the grief from the loss of PK in November (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Pray for her ministry as 20 widows met In February for worship and encouragement through Anna Widows Fellowship (Psalm 68:4-6).
A friendly reminder to our pastors: be sure that you are legally authorized in your state to solemnize marriages. Check with your state department for requirements.
Get to Know Ed & Linda
Ed and Linda (East Asia) will be in EFC-ER August through December this year. Along with Sunday services, consider meeting with Ed and Linda outside of the church walls. They would enjoy time in small groups, home Bible studies, and meeting individually over a cup of coffee or meal as an opportunity to get to know their brothers and sisters in Christ from EFC-ER.

Call or email Julie Jenkins (jjenkins@efcer.org) for more information or to schedule.
