Teacher Surveys -Deadline Extended

We've extended the deadline to complete the teacher surveys as we would love to have greater participation from our families. We highly value your input and partnership in the education of your children so if you have not yet taken the opportunity to fill out the surveys for each of your child's teachers, please take the time to do so today or over the weekend as we will begin to compile the data on Monday.  If you have any questions, please contact Brenda Wichhart, wichhartb@hcs-nl.com.
Help Support Heritage Volleyball!
Hello Heritage Families! Do you have a desire to see Co-Curricular Activities at Heritage grow and flourish? Or, maybe you don't have children old enough to be involved in Heritage Sports, but you just have a love for Athletics and want to see the programs grow. Then please consider offering your help!
The Heritage Volleyball Teams will be hosting a volleyball tournament at Heritage on Saturday, February 4th. Proceeds will be generated through club team registrations and concession income, and all the profit will go toward Heritage Volleyball! We are not playing in this tournament, but will be busy running concessions for the whole day.
If you are available and willing to help out, we are looking for volunteers to sign up to drop off specific food items, or to sign up for a time slot to volunteer in the concession stand that day. If you feel led to donate your time or resources to our program, we would greatly appreciate it! Just email Deb Pitcher ( debpitcher@southslope.net ) and she'll email you the link to sign up and participate. Thank you!

Boxtops

Don't forget to be collecting those boxtops and send them to school with your student. At the end of January the boxtops will be tallied to see which classroom has collected the most in the months of December and January. It's an easy way to help earn cash for our school!
The Eagles JV entered the Cedar Valley gym on a rainy, gloomy night last Thursday. The Eagles started the game with the lead and built it to double digits at times during the game.  Cedar Valley stayed close enough and with a few late baskets pulled within 3 points with 8.7 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Cedar Valley had the ball and one of their players hit the shot of his year sinking a 3 pointer as time ran out tying the game. That confidence going into overtime allowed Cedar Valley to win over the Eagles, but the JV team learned a great deal in the loss. We now have a strong goal to win out the last three games, which includes a rematch with Cedar Valley that the Eagles will be ready for at their last home game of the season on Tuesday, February 7.

On Friday, January 20, the Eagles 7/8th Girls basketball team faced the Knights from North Central Junior High for the first time. The Eagles started out slow with the Knights taking an early lead. After the half, the Eagles rallied in the 3rd quarter and were able to keep up the pressure in the fourth. The girls played with intensity and determination but it was not enough to bring the Eagles to victory over the Knights.

8th Grade Recognition Night - Eagles Athletes, Parents, and Fans are invited to join us in recognizing this year's 8th grade athletes on Thursday, February 2nd. All 8th grade athletes will be announced during the half time of the 7/8th boys game in recognition of their participation in Athletics here at Heritage. The 7/8th Boys game is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
