Community Dinner TOMORROW!
|
There is no signup sheet for this month's Community Meal. So we are guessing on how many and "Y'all come" as folks used to say. The menu is pork ribs from the recipe at Harold's Corral in Cave Creek. Harold's was a bar/restaurant in Cave Creek which was well known for about 40 years. Also a salad, beef & Ruth's beans, and apple pie. Country Cooking in the western style and I'm looking forward to it. Plan to come enjoy dinner with us at 6pm tomorrow - Friday, June 22nd.

EfM Graduation - Congrats Cindy, Carol, Meghan, Mary & Christina!
|
Congratulations to Cindy Brouwer, Carol Forker, Mary Heldenbrand, Christina Priddy, and Meghan Skillen who have completed four years of Education for Ministry (EfM), studying the Old and New Testaments, church history, and theology. For all students in EfM, these years are also marked by sharing our lives in community, reflecting on living out our beliefs in our daily lives, and purposefully seeking where God is calling us to ministry. They will be presented their certificates of completion at the 9:30 am service on Sunday June 24th.

Family Camp @ Chapel Rock
|
Unplug and Reconnect - For Families with Children and Youth of All Ages July 5-8 at Chapel Rock
It is challenging in this over-programmed, screen-filled culture to take the time out to be present to the people in our families. Family Camp is an opportunity to unplug from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with your children and with the God who made you a family.
Experience prayer, music, free time exploring the beauty of Prescott, and old-fashioned camp fun, like arts and crafts, a campfire, the ropes course, and games. Invest in your family, and come join us! Fees begin at $300 per family of two and include lodging and all meals. For more information or to register, please go to: http://www.chapelrock.net/camps.htm and click on Family Camp or call (602) 254-0976 or email jana@azdiocese.org.

Volunteers Wanted!
|
The Balsz Elementary School District, which includes St. Stephen's, is seeking volunteers for it Restorative Justice Center. Arthur Montoya, the center's director, will train volunteers to serve as mediators in the Balsz schools. The mediators will spend 3-4 hours per week helping students to be held accountable for their actions and help them to learn to restore relationships with fellow students, teachers, and the community peacefully. Please contact Vic Grace at 602.463.8044 if you wish to help Arthur continue his efforts to keep all students working together in our local schools. He will notify you when the one day training will be conducted.

We aspire to be an accepting community in which people will know Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, spiritual formation and fellowship. We hope our community will encourage all to use their God given gifts to serve others in the name of Christ.
