National Policy Statement on Entrepreneurship

Government launched a Policy Statement on Entrepreneurship on Thursday last. ISME  called on the Government to ensure that the plan received its full commitment and that entrepreneurship remained at the centre of the policy agenda.

SME Satisfaction with Government Improves

ISME released the results of the latest Government Satisfaction Survey. The indicators all show positive improvements in line with the general consensus that the economy is slowly working its way back to growth. The Association warned of any relaxation in the drive for productivity gains in the public sector in the long lead up to the next election.

Quarterly Trends Survey Results

The ISME Quarterly Trends Survey showed  that the recovery in the SME sector is strengthening and beginning to extend across the sector, becoming more broad based. There were increases in 8 of the 12 Key Business Indicators, with one static and three showing decreases.

Inflation

The September CPI inflation figure was -0.2%. ISME has called on government to acknowledge that this low inflation figure conceals the reality of high business costs. The Association has asked for curtailment across the economy, to ensure a steady and sustainable recovery.
