In our nation and in our world the voices of Trans* folk are too often silenced and Trans* lives are under siege.  In anticipation of Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31 this weekend MCC joins with other faith communities around the country as we lift up, stand alongside and pray with transgender persons for justice.

Calling All Musicians for Easter!
Do you sing?  Do you play an instrument?  Share the joy and offer your gifts are we prepare for the celebration of Easter!  It's the perfect season to try out the choir or offer other special music talents.  For more information contact our music director, Colin, e-mail [email protected].

Holy Week and Easter Resurrection are the heart of Christian faith. Share the spirit with the community of MCCP!

Friday, April 14:  Good Friday "Way of the Cross" @ 12Noon
Similar to praying the "Stations of the Cross," join others at MCC Portland for a shared quiet time prayerfully meditating upon the difficult journey Jesus walked to the Crucifixion.
Saturday, April 15:  Easter Egg Hunt @ 4PM
Share fun and fellowship with our neighbors at Central Lutheran Church.   We gather at the nearby Peace House (NE 18th & Tillamook) for the Egg Hunt, then create a festive Easter Parade to Central Lutheran Church for story time.  All children are welcome! 
Easter Resurrection Sunday, April 16
7AM Sunrise Worship in Washington Park .   Welcome Resurrection morning overlooking our city from this landmark location. (We gather at Picnic area B above the Rose Garden.)
10AM Celebration Worship at 2400 NE Broadway
People's Pantry Offering, Sunday, April 2

Your financial and food donations to the People's Pantry are always welcome - especially the first Sunday of the month!
Items currently needed for prepared food bags : 
canned pears (16 oz), soups, ravioli/beefaroni (16 oz), raisins (6 packs), juice (pouches/boxes), applesauce cups, crackers, peanut butter (16 oz), canned tuna fish, macaroni & cheese, spaghetti sauce, spaghetti/pasta, pork & beans, Spam/Treet, cold cereal
ALSO NEEDED:  Plastic bags with handles and egg cartons

Planning has begun for Rev. Nathan to take a renewal leave/sabbatical in 2018.  A brief presentation will be held after worship NEXT Sunday (April 2) inviting your input and questions. If you can't attend, but have questions or want more info, contact Rev. Nathan.

Church Clean-Up Day
Saturday, April 8, 10AM-4PM
Plan to come and help tidy up for Holy Week & Easter!  We'll have a list of inside and outside projects (weather permitting), so bring gloves and wear work clothes. "Many hands make work light!" 
Lunch - and fellowship - will be provided!
