Sunday School

Instead of Children's Time tomorrow, all children will be invited at that time in the service to attend Sunday School in the Conference Room! We'll learn about how the Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed! Bring a friend!


Heavenly Voices

Do you know a young person that would like to sing? Children in preschool - elementary school are invited to join our new choir, Heavenly Voices! They rehearse for roughly ten minutes each Sunday immediately following the service. Heavenly Voices hopes to sing during the service about once a month. All are invited. No experience is necessary. Bring a friend! :)


Altar Flowers 


Celebrate a special occasion or honor a loved one by purchasing  flowers for the altar on Sunday. The cost is $40. Sign up on the  flower chart in the narthex or online. Oct. 2, 9, 16, and Nov. 13 are  still available!


Congregational Chat


Plan to stay after the service on Oct. 9 for an important Congregational Chat! We'll have updates for you regarding renovations, and we'll ask for your input on some renovation choices that we need to make!


Carl Von Kennen 


Former American Lutheran Church member Carl Von Kennen passed away  on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.  Carl was born on November 29, 1925, and was a resident of Youngstown, Ohio at the time of his passing. Carl was a graduated of Chaney High School. He was married to Susie. Memorial contributions may be made in Carl's name to your local animal shelter.

Did you know that American Lutheran Church is a polling location for 
the upcoming presidential elections? We'd like to encourage everyone 
to be sure to vote on November 8! The deadline to register is 15 days before the election. Check your registration status at www.lavote.net or register to vote today!


Old-fashioned Country Harvest Festival 


Save the date! Saturday, Oct. 29 we will have our Old-fashioned Country Harvest Festival! There will be barbecue, a chili cook-off, line dancing, games, and fun! Free will offering will be accepted. Food donations are appreciated. Invite your friends!


Trunk-or-Treat 




On Oct. 31 we need volunteers to bring your vehicles to church and decorate your trunks for Halloween! Young people will then be encouraged to go from trunk to trunk trick-or-treating! Afterwards enjoy the Hilarious Halloween Haunt marionette show in the gym! Choose the photo above to sign up to bring your trunk! Setup begins at 5:00 pm. It opens to the public at 6:00 pm. Invite your friends!


Volunteers Needed 


We need volunteers to help serve during our 10:00 am worship service on Sundays. We need people of all ages to be acolytes, communion assistants, greeters & ushers, readers, work audio visual, and provide refreshments. Just choose the picture above to sign up. No experience is necessary! :)
