"Know Your Neighbor" and Tours & Talks at ICGC
The ICGC Tours and Talks team would like to thank the community for another successful "Know Your Neighbor" event this past Saturday. Inshallah, we plan to continue to offer this important program and we welcome your ideas and help. This new initiative has increased the exposure as well as interest from other communities to be more involved in the Tours & Talks programs.  We would like to remind the community that as an institution we represent ICGC and we are also an affiliate of ING (Islamic Networks Groups).  The Tours & Talks team welcome you and your schools, institutions, places of worship, etc to work with us in combating Islamophobia via our trained speakers and tour guides.

MuslimAdvocates shares some useful resources in answer to questions they have received from community members and interested supporters:
  • First, we teamed up with the Center for Immigrants' Rights Clinic at Penn State Law to produce a legal analysis and fact sheet of the Executive Order that explains key policies and some takeaways: Click here for FACT SHEET
  • Second, we have also prepared a Community Guidance document that specifically addresses certain questions about how the Executive Order may impact you, as well as resources for how to find an immigration attorney: Click here for Community Guidance document
Please share these resources widely with your networks and friends.

Islamic Center In The News

Every community has a narra tive.  Either that community controls the narrative or the narrative cont rols the community. Now more than ever the American Muslim community has to take control of the narrative. This can only be achieved if as a community we are building bridges and inroads with media.  Media outlets want to cover stories and do pieces that people are interested in. They want viewers, readers, comments, and discussions.  It is critical that as a community we are more visible and more vocal in the media.

We have been blessed for wide and positive coverage of the Center.  When there is positive coverage we must all give feedback and acknowledge and appreciate the work of the media. Please take a few minutes to review the media links and give positive feedback where you feel comfortable.
