PDX Live! Friday, Nov 7, 7:30pm, Main Sanctuary. Join Cantor Bletstein, Ed Kraus and Klezmocracy for another rockin’ season of PDX Live! Enjoy new melodies and Oneg following services. Come and see why we are the most talked about Friday night service in Portland! 

PDX Live not only introduces you to new Shabbat melodies but it also welcomes a new art exhibit in the lobby!  Friday night only, meet exhibiting artists Anita Kaplan (Fabric art), Nitzan Lilie (Metal Art), Jan Katz (Painter), and Eddy Shuldman (Glass) at the Oneg! All art is available for purchase (after Shabbat) with a portion of the proceeds going to Neveh Shalom.

Havdalah In Pajamas With Rabbi Eve Posen, Saturday, November 8th, 5:30pm, Birnbach Hall - Join PJ Library and young families at Congregation Neveh Shalom for a fun night in pajamas!  Enjoy a kid friendly dinner, Havdalah, crafts and a milk and cookie story time. What wacky pajamas will Rabbi Eve wear? Find your favorite footies (adults too!) and get ready for the perfect family night with wee ones. Open to all and geared toward families with babies through age 6. $12 adults, $7 kids, $42 max per family RSVP HERE

Ron Wolfson - Scholar Visit - November 14-15
Ron Wolfson has been breathing new life into congregations and inspiring young and old with his vision of relationships at the heart of Jewish community. We are honored to host a weekend with Ron Wolfson and urge you to make it a priority to connect with him while he is here. What he has to teach us is very timely for our Neveh Shalom community and may be personally meaningful for you and your family.    

Friday, Nov 14: Shabbat services with the CNS Singers and our 3rd-6th graders at 5:30 followed by Erev Shabbat dinner. Families with children especially welcome; children's activities will be provided during Ron Wolfson presentation "The Power of Shabbat."
$16 per adult, $9 ages 3-13, $4 for 3 and under (covers childcare) RSVP here  

Saturday, Nov 15 7 pm Havdalah followed by presentation by Ron Wolfson. Dessert provided. Free and open to all.

Ron Wolfson is the author of Relational Judaism, Using the Power of Relationships to Transform the Jewish Community. His book will be available for sale in the CNS main office throughout the month of November.

Sisterhood and Men's Club are sponsoring a trip to the Portland Art Museum with Docent Carol Isaak providing insights into art with a Jewish eye. It is scheduled for Thursday 11/13/14 at 5:30 at the museum. Fee is $11 for non-museum members. If interested, please contact Dana Sirkin

Wednesday, Dec 3, 6:30pm Presentation by Rona Arato, author of "The Last Train" -Join CNS Sisterhood for this fascinating talk about the Holocaust by Rona Arato, a former teacher and award-winning children’s author. Rona Arato will sign books during the reception after her presentation. Free and open to all, the book is recommended to 6-7th graders. More info

Thursday, December 11, 6:30pm, Birnbach Hall - The 2014 Stampfer Community Enrichment Award nominating committee selected our dear member, Jakob (Jake) Kryszek, as this year's honoree. A Holocaust survivor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, musician and more, Jake embodies all that the Stampfer Community Enrichment Award represents. Individual tickets are $60/person. Calling all cookie bakers!!
We need you to help welcome Ron Wolfson by adding to our Friday and Saturday night cookie tables. Never baked for a Neveh event? We'll send you instructions for baking in a non-kosher home.   
Want to bake with a group? Join the Wednesday night volunteer group TONIGHT! (Nov. 5) from 6:30-8:30 in the Foundation School kitchen.  
Volunteers are also needed for plating on Friday morning, 11/14 at 10:00 am.

Outside-In Cooking Project - Join us at Noon on Sunday, November 9, in the Neveh Shalom kitchen.  We will make Tuna Noodle Casserole, Salad, and Brownies for Portland's homeless teens. For further information contact Cathy Blair at [email protected]

Neveh Knits and Crochets will meet this Sunday, November 9th from 9:30- 11:30 am in Room 101. Bring your own needlework project or start a new one.  Newcomers and beginning knitters and crocheters welcome.   

Help The Homeless - Are you willing to become part of Portland’s New City Initiative to help the homeless?  We are looking for volunteers with the time and commitment to be trained in skills necessary to work with the homeless and over time to help change their lives for the better. Information about this program here. Contact Steve Sirkin (503-454-0610).

Women's Torah Study, this Saturday, Nov 8, 12:30pm, Room 111 - An uplifting hour of study on Shabbat!  Delve into biblical and midrashic text, (Hebrew and English text available) with a group of other women to find meaning from our traditions that relate to our lives. All levels of experience welcome.
