Among Muslims, there is a sense that some sports facilities and gyms do not cater to women. However, this is changing, particularly with the development of mosques with sports facilities. Melis Aydogan wants to encourage a new generation of sisters to go out and engage in sport, without embarrassment.

Join Melis on Sunday, May 14th at 11:30 am to learn more about the Self-defense & Kickboxing based workout class she will be holding for sisters every Saturday morning 10 - 11 am soon.

Sport hijabs available upon request.
Feel free to reach out to her by email,  aydoganm@bu.edu, for inquiries.

Islamic Center In The News

Every community has a narra tive.  Either that community controls the narrative or the narrative cont rols the community. Now more than ever the American Muslim community has to take control of the narrative. This can only be achieved if as a community we are building bridges and inroads with media.  Media outlets want to cover stories and do pieces that people are interested in. They want viewers, readers, comments, and discussions.  It is critical that as a community we are more visible and more vocal in the media.

We have been blessed for wide and positive coverage of the Center.  When there is positive coverage we must all give feedback and acknowledge and appreciate the work of the media. Please take a few minutes to review the media links and give positive feedback where you feel comfortable.
