News for This Week
oneLate Arrival on Wednesday

Due to a staff in-service meeting, school will begin at 9am on Wednesday. Please bring your students at that time via the same drop off procedure. This applies to all students, including ECC. Students may not come to school sooner than 9am.
Tardies Beginning

Tardies will be counted from this week onward for all 1st-8th graders. Students must be in class by 8:10am. School doors shut at 8:10am. If arriving after doors have shut, parents must park and walk their children in to sign them in. A tardy pass will be given to the student.

Though tardies are not counted for Montessori students, we still ask you to bring them to school on time to help them transition and partake in the class routine.
Karate Uniforms

Karate uniforms will be for sale soon. On Tuesday, Sensei Saif will determine your child's size and let you know if you need to purchase a uniform for your child. If your child already has a karate uniform (which fits), he/she should bring it to school on Tuesday and wear so he knows you don't need another one. Please note that karate uniforms are needed only for karate students, which is for Montessori level 3 through 6th grade.
Upcoming Important Dates
twoLabor Day

There will be no school on Monday, September 7 due to it being labor day. We will see the students back on Tuesday, September 8.
Bullying Awareness Workshop

We will hold a bullying awareness workshop for parents on Friday, September 11 at 8:15am. Please attend this workshop to learn more about what bullying is, causes of it, how to address it, etc. It will be held by at least one local therapist.
Hajj Play

The Montessori Hajj play detailing the process and importance of the fifth pillar of Islam will be held on Friday, September 18 at 8:15am. We encourage all Montessori parents to attend as your children will be a part of it.

fourKhateebs Request

Every day, our 1st-8th grade students pray dhuhr in congregation, with one of the students leading them. On Fridays, one of the school dads or community members come to give a short 5-10 minute khutbah on a topic relevant to our students and lead prayer. We are in need of more khateebs for this year as it is difficult for the same brothers to volunteer frequently due to other commitments. Please respond to this email if you can sign up for even one Friday this semester. Thank you!
