In This Issue...

Thank you for completing your child(ren)'s enrollment through TADS for this academic year. After doing so, you should have received an email from us titled "Tuition Info" with details of the tuition payments that are due for your student(s) by August 25. Please read that email and turn in the tuition as stated.
Documents to Turn In

If you haven't already done so, please turn in the remaining documents for your child(ren)'s enrollment by August 25 at latest via mail, fax, or scan and email:

Physical Examination (with hearing/vision screening for students ages 4+)

- Updated immunization records

Automatic Tuition Withdrawal form (if paying via option IV) with void check

Parent-Student Handbook

The parent-student handbook for the 2014-2015 academic year is ready and published on our website. You can access it by clicking here. It will also be available in the bottom right Resources section of these weekly newsletters throughout the year.

All families must abide by the school policies therein so we encourage you all to review the handbook completely. We will go over them in more detail on the Back to School Night. 

The school day begins at 8:10am, however students may arrive as early as 7:55. Elementary and middle school students will be marked tardy if they are not in class by 8:10am, however tardies will be pardoned for the first week of school while you adjust to the commute. 

The school day ends at 3:10 Montessori, elementary, and middle school students. (Please note that this timing has changed from last year for Montessori.) Students must be picked up no later than 3:25. No after school care is available. ECC student dismissal time is 3:00 in order to facilitate the dismissal process for the whole school.
Drop Off and Pick Up

To drop off and pick up your children, you will need to enter from the El Farouq Masjid gate, cross the park, and enter the carpool line to the school. All students should get out from the driver's side of the car to enter the school. You will then exit from the ILM Academy gate. Please use this same process to pick up your children in the afternoon (enter from El Farouq gate to get in line, then exit from ILM Academy gate). All ECC students must be dropped off and picked up in person because students have to be signed in/out. Middle school students must be picked up and dropped off at the main school building. You may also walk in your children whose classes are in the main building by parking your car and walking them in. 

Omair Sana Scholarship for Academic Excellence

Alhamdullilah, we are able to offer a scholarship for our middle school students this year. Please read the full details of the scholarship and how to achieve it beginning from page 23 of the parent-student handbook linked below in the Resources section.
All general school supplies are provided by the school as purchased with your school supply fee payments. Not included in this fee is each child's personal backpack and lunch box. (All students must bring lunch/snacks daily. Soon after the start of the school year, lunches can be purchased through the PTA as well. More information is coming on that soon.)
Academic Calendar & Teacher Contact Directory

A printed version of the academic year calendar will be available in the school starting from next week insha'Allah. Feel free to pick up a copy. For now you can view  a digital copy here . You can also view these files at the bottom of these weekly newsletters in the Resources section.
Car Tags

All families will be given 2 carpool tags to hang by their rear view mirrors for when they come to pick up their children so we can verify that the car belongs to an ILM Academy parent. In addition to this tag, we will always verify if the person picking up your child is authorized to do so according to the pick up authorization list you filled out on the TADS enrollment forms.

In lieu of the Registration Open House held in past years that was hard for many families to attend and because we have initiated an online enrollment process this year, we will instead have a Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 27 at 6pm so parents can come in to meet their students' teachers and see the classrooms at that time. Additionally, we will also have a policy presentation to go over revisions to our handbook and other helpful information. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend, but out of respect for the teachers and other parents, please make alternate arrangements for your children as the program is geared for parents only. It is highly disruptive to teachers and other parents when children are present.
