Arizona's Luke Air Force Base gets F-35 mission
The Department of Defense has chosen Luke Air Force Base in Glendale for the new pilot training center for the F-35 fighter jets, city officials announced Aug. 1.
The 71-year-old base in west Glendale was competing with bases in Tucson, Ariz., New Mexico and Idaho for the F-35 mission. Read more...

Luke AFB selected for F-35A pilot training
It's official, the F-35 is coming to Luke Air Force Base. Air Force Secretary Michael Donley announced Wednesday that Luke AFB has been chosen as the location of the Air Force's F-35A Lightning II pilot training center.
