 Monday: Student Holiday
As a reminder, Monday is a student holiday and parent-teacher conference day. The school week will resume on Tuesday for students. Students should not be brought along with parents to the conferences.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
This coming Monday, February 23 will be parent-teacher conference day. The online sign up sheet is available, along with details on signing up for conferences. Please click here to view the email we sent earlier this week about it. |
Lost and Found Items
The school lost and found bins are overflowing with jackets, sweaters, karate gear, water bottles, etc. Please have your children claim their belongings and also look through the bins this coming Monday when you come for conferences. All items remaining in the bins will be donated on Tuesday.

Go Texan Day!
In the spirit of the Houston Rodeo, Go Texan Day at our school will be this coming Thursday. Dress your child up in their Texan best - boots, shirts, jeans, hats, bandanas - the whole deal! There will be no uniform required for 1st-7th graders on this day.

Volunteer Appreciation Brunch
On Friday, March 6 at 8:10, we will be holding our annual volunteer appreciation brunch. It is just a small token of thanks to all of our room moms, fundraiser volunteers, Jummah khateebs, Odyssey volunteers, and everyone else who helps our school and our students shine. Please mark it in your calendars and attend! If you can come, please respond to this email to RSVP so we have a headcount for the food. :) |
Tuition and Tax Info
To access tuition invoices at any time, log in to your Orbund account (making sure to select the role of Parent), then click on Tuition & Fees > Payment & Invoice > select the academic year from the top menu. Payments you've made are listed at the bottom.
If claiming tuition on your taxes, please use the IEIT tax ID number: 76-041-3970. The address for IEIT is 3110 Eastside St., Houston, TX 77098. Tuition cannot be claimed as a donation.

Security Update
Yesterday, we emailed you regarding our school security update and also reviewed the steps we have been taking in our security thus far. We would greatly appreciate your help in driving slowly in the parking lot and always escorting your child to/from the school personally, especially when going to the playground. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our students. |
Jummah Khateebs Request
We are in need of more volunteers to give the khutbahs at our school's Jummah prayers, as we currently have very few and very busy fathers doing so. If you or someone you know can give even one khutbah this semester, it would be very helpful. Jummah prayer time is 1:25-1:45 (this includes the khutbah and salah). Please email us if interested. Spirit Shirts for Sale
We have some additional spirit shirts (the royal blue shirts the students wear for PE class and field trips) for sale. The sizes and quantities of those sizes that we have available are:
- 4 XS youth t-shirts
- 5 L youth t-shirts
- 2 S youth tunics
- 1 M youth tunic
- 1 L youth tunic
T-shirts are being sold at the reduced price of $11 and tunics are being sold at the reduced price of $14.

Community Event: College Prep Night
Darul Arqam North (11815 Adel Rd) is holding a college prep workshop tonight at 7pm. A certified college counselor will talk about preparing for college, informing about tests that need to be taken, and how to apply for financial aid through FAFSA.
