Bismillah Cafe, the restaurant from which we purchase the Wednesday sandwich lunches, will be closed on January 21 and 28 due to the owners going to Umrah. No one else will be manning the restaurant and therefore we were forced to cancel lunches for those two days. The PTA has refunded your lunch money for those two days via orderlunches.com and you can use that credit to purchase lunches for February onward. More info on purchasing February lunches will be given next week.

twoAdmissions 2015-2016

We have opened Priority Admissions for 2015-2016. Please also inform anyone you know who is interested in applying for their child for 2015-2016. The application process this year will be online via TADS and you will pay the fee online as well. The application fee this year will be $65/student for the first 3 students you are applying for in your family. Thereafter, the fee will be waived for your fourth or more children.
Chuck-e-Cheese Fundraiser

Our PTA has arranged for a school fundraiser to be held at Chuck-e-Cheese located on 12523 Westheimer Rd.from 3pm-9pm on Friday, January 23.

The Chuck-e-Cheese will be donating 15% of profits generated from ILM Academy families and friends on that evening to our school! Also, all of our students will receive stickers with 10 free tokens.

Please come enjoy an evening with your family at Chuck-e-Cheese on Friday, January 23. Feel free to invite other families/friends who don't even attend ILM Academy. The more people who participate, the more we can fundraise!

Emails Sent This Week

We know you received several emails from us this week. To recap, please be sure to read through the following emails we sent you:

Our Odyssey of the Mind teams are in need of 2 volunteers to assist them with qualifying for the regional tournament coming up in March. Two volunteers are needed to be trained judges for the competition. The commitment is half a day on 2/7/15 and full days on 3/7/15 and 4/11/15. The other two volunteers needed are 2 hour volunteers who will assist with the tournament on 3/7/15 on that day or the day before (3/6/15) for a couple of hours. If you or someone you know can volunteer, please let us know by responding to this email.
Science Fair Judges Needed

We are in need of volunteers to help with science fair judging on the morning of Friday, January 23 for a couple of hours. If you or someone you know who has a background in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) and/or is familiar with the scientific method, please let us know by responding to this email. Even if you don't have such a background but are still interested in helping, please email us. Thank you!
Dressing Your Child for the Weather

As our students do go outside for recess daily, please be sure to check the weather and send your child dressed in the appropriate clothing on a daily basis. There are days that the temperature drops throughout the school day so please send your child in layers on such days. We take students out for recess as long as wind chill does not go below 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
Purchasing Yearbooks

You can still purchase yearbooks! Do so by:
  1. Bringing in a check payable to ILM Academy for $26 x quantity of yearbooks you want to buy (turn this in to the front office or your child's teacher)
  2. OR go online to order, enter the code 76605, and submit your order!
Jummah Khateebs Request

We are in need of more volunteers to give the khutbahs at our school's Jummah prayers. Currently, we depend upon a few fathers at the school to do this but are in need of more volunteers. If you or someone you know can give even one khutbah this semester, it would be very helpful. Jummah prayer time is 1:25-1:45 (this includes the khutbah and salah). Please email us if interested.
