oneGraduation, Awards, and Recognition Ceremony

The graduation ceremonies for the Montessori level 3 and 5th grade classes are on Thursday, June 4 at 8:30am. All families are invited to attend and bring relatives to take part in the occasion insha'Allah. Cake and coffee will be served. After the ceremony, classrooms will have their own parties and wrap ups. 
Early Dismissal

The last day of school (Thursday, June 4) is an early dismissal day. Please pick up your students from school at 10:00am. All students must be dismissed by 10:15am.
Deadline to Order June Lunches

Saturday, May 30 is the last day to order lunches for the last week of school. If you haven't done so already, please be sure to order lunches.

Internet Safety Workshop

The Houston Police Department will be holding an internet safety workshop for students and parents (separately) on Wednesday, June 3 at 2pm. Please attend to learn more about the dangers of the internet and how to prepare your child to use it responsibly. This is a very highly recommended and helpful workshop to attend considering summer is approaching and may lead to an increase in children's screen time. It is directly before the PTA meeting for your convenience.
PTA Elections & Room Moms

PTA officer elections will take place on Wednesday, June 3 at 2:30pm in the hall. Please attend to cast your vote. Nominations for president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer positions can be sent to [email protected]. Nominations must be emailed to the PTA in order to be included on the ballot.

If you are interested in being a room mom for your child's class next year, please let the PTA know via email. More details about being a room mom/dad can be found in this email. 
Yearbooks

There are some yearbooks left for sale if you would like to purchase them. If you do, they are available first come first serve (and cannot be reserved ahead of time). You may purchase before 8:10am or after 3:30pm from the 3rd grade teacher (Ms. Mehreen) with $25 via cash or check.
Community Event: Two Women's Wokshops

Listen live online to the translation of the entire Quran, along with brief explanations, from June 1-July 16 (Monday-Friday) from 10am-12:15pm. For more information, click here.

Also, there will be another workshop with Sr. Farhat Shamsi in the ISGH Community Hall (1209 Conrad Sauer) on taming the tongue before entering Ramadan. It will be on Sunday, June 14 from 3:45-5:30pm.
Community Event: Parenting Workshop

ICNA is hosting a parenting workshop entitled "The Coolness of Our Eyes" on Sunday, May 31 from 11am to maghrib time at Maryam Islamic Center. Lunch will be served at the event. Please call 713.401.7198 or 832.692.2012 for any questions.
