Our 5th grade parents should have received emails about our middle school transition meeting taking place on Tuesday at 8:30am. Please check out the email for more details and RSVP by responding to it. We highly recommend all 5th grade parents attend.

Also, 5th-7th grade parents received a middle school perception survey this past week. Please complete it by tomorrow. Your input is much appreciated.
Tune in to Odyssey of the Mind World Finals

Our Odyssey team will be competing at the international level this week! We are very proud of their triumphs thus far and hope they place at the World competition this week as well. You can tune in to the opening ceremony with your children through a live webcast on Wednesday at 6:30pm and the awards ceremony on Saturday at 6:30pm available through this website. 
Yearbook Release Party

Yearbooks will be in soon! Insha'Allah after receiving them, they will be distributed to those students who purchased them and all those students are invited to attend the Yearbook Release Party where students can sign one another's books. It will be on Wednesday, May 27 in the school hall after school until 4:30pm.
The graduation ceremonies for the Montessori level 3 and 5th grade classes are on Thursday, June 4 at 8:30am. All families are invited to attend and bring relatives to take part in the occasion insha'Allah . Cake and coffee will be served. After the ceremony, classrooms will have their own parties and wrap ups. (Also note that dismissal on that day will be at 10am, as was listed in our academic calendar for this year.) 
Upcoming Student Holiday

Please remember that Monday, May 25 (Memorial Day) is a student holiday. School will resume that week on Tuesday.
Deadline to Order June Lunches

Saturday, May 30 is the last day to order lunches for the last week of school (which is the first week of June). If you haven't done so already, please be sure to order lunches. The only available days are that Monday and Wednesday as Thursday will be an early release day and no lunch will be served. 
Spirit Shirts Available

We have extra spirit shirts available for purchase. These are the shirts students wear to PE class and field trips. The sizes and quantities of those sizes that we have available are: 
  • 3 XS youth t-shirts 
  • 1 S youth t-shirt 
  • 1 M youth t-shirt 
  • 1 L youth t-shirt 
  • 2 S youth tunics 
  • 1 M youth tunic 
  • 1 L youth tunic 

T-shirts are being sold at the reduced price of $11 and tunics are being sold at the reduced price of $14.
Community Event: Parenting Workshop

ICNA is hosting a parenting workshop entitled "The Coolness of Our Eyes" on Sunday, May 31 from 11am to maghrib time at Maryam Islamic Center. Lunch will be served at the event. Please call 713.401.7198 or 832.692.2012 for any questions.
