Our PTA distributed catalogs last week with exciting gifts you, your neighbors, your coworkers, or anyone can purchase to give to others. Each gift purchased will go directly towards the school so please participate! You may sell as much as you like all the way until Friday, November 21 when orders will be due.

Next week is Health and Safety week. During this week, we will be conducting safety drills, inviting local dentists to talk about oral hygiene, having a police officer talk about safety to different age groups, inviting doctors to talk to our older students about their health as they are growing (more detailed information on this was emailed to 4th-7th graders' parents this past Monday), and our 7th grade health class will be engaging the school in some activities. We look forward to this fun, and of course safe, week with the students. Please be prepared to also emphasize safety in talks with your children at home, such as going over home evacuation plans, talking about fire safety, calling 911, and so on.

Thank you for attending the info session for robotics, a new after school program we will be beginning. More information on those details are TBA. Generally, robotics will be offered for children of ages 4 and up, with different sections for different age groups. The classes are team based and the teachers are educators and engineers who will be teaching the students physics and math skills in order to successfully build and run robots. The program will be $165 per student for 12 hours of instruction (which could be 1 hour for 12 weeks, 1.5 hours for 8 weeks, etc.). There will be a Singapore math info session on Friday, December 5 at about 8:15am. This session is open to parents of children in 1st-7th grades who are using Singapore math in their classes so that you can better understand the method of instruction we use in our math curriculum. 

The deadline for December lunch ordering is Wednesday, November 26. If you want to purchase lunches for your Montessori, elementary, and middle school child(ren) for the month of December, please be sure to go online to do it by that date. To learn how to do so, click here.

Our school yearbook club is planning out the yearbook with your picture submissions starting next week. Now you can also begin purchasing the yearbooks from now until Thanksgiving break for the price of $16 each. After Thanksgiving break, the company increases the price to $26 so purchase your yearbook(s) now! To do so:

A women's luncheon hosted by Islamic Relief on the topic of domestic violence will be held on Saturday, December 6 from 11am-2pm. Moms, please join other women for an afternoon filled with profound talks, fabulous food, and great company in the effort to stop violence against women. This free event is being held at Masjid as-Salam (Champions Masjid, 16700 Old Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77379) on Saturday, November 15 from 10:30am-5:30pm. It will include viewing of Islamic art (from paintings to wood carvings), learning to do calligraphy, getting mehndi/henna put on your hands,  seeing videos of art, and more. Please attend and support this beautiful community event!
