Invitations for You
oneCoffee with the Principal

We have lifted off into the new school year with a lot of excitement, events, meetings, class happenings, and more. Touch base with Principal Zuhaira about your feelings and any suggestions you may have to improve upon this year as we move forward by coming to the Coffee with the Principal event this Friday, October 23 at 8:30am. This is a relaxed coffee we hold at least a couple of times in the school year for moms and dads like you to give us your input to help us keep growing.
Gala Planning Meeting

The first fundraising gala planning meeting of the year will take place this Tuesday at 1:30pm. This year, we are taking a different twist on the gala so we need help in some of the ways we did last year and some new ways this year. Come to the meeting to see where you can assist insha'Allah.
Upcoming Parent Events

We will be having an event for parents during our annual Health and Safety week on that Friday morning. It is to be confirmed so please stay tuned to hear more details.

Also, the ECC and Montessori classes will be holding their annual Muffins with Moms event in a few weeks. This is a time for moms (or other relatives) to come in to work with their children in the morning, followed by breakfast. Stay tuned for more information.
New Happenings
twoTrees for ILM Academy

You will soon be receiving a form from the school requesting you to fill it and turn it in so that ILM Academy can be selected by a nonprofit called Trees for Houston. Being selected will mean that the organization will plant 15-gallon trees on our campus and maintain them for 2 years, after which we will maintain them. Please assist us in further beautifying our campus and helping the environment.
PTA Meeting

The next PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, October 22 at 1:30pm. Please attend any of these PTA meetings at any point in the year to give your input  and be involved with the Parent Teacher Association. Efforts like the one to attain trees for ILM Academy are spearheaded by the PTA.

There will also be a PTA bake sale on Thursday, October 29 after school. Please support it so the PTA can do more for the students with those funds.
Picture Day

Picture day is fast approaching on Friday, October 30. You will soon be receiving forms to fill out and send back to school regarding your preferences for your child's pictures and if you would like him/her photographed with siblings. Only siblings currently in the school can be photographed with another student. No cousin photographs will be taken. The forms you receive must be turned in by Tuesday, October 27. Please abide by this deadline as it takes a great deal of time to organize the forms and schedule the picture day sequence by taking student nap times into consideration, as well as other logistics.
Educating and Education
threeSubstitute Teachers Request

We are in need of substitute teachers. They do not necessarily need to be certified teachers but should have some teaching experience. If you or someone you know may be interested, please send the resume to us at [email protected]. Any questions regarding this can also be sent there.
Duties of Safety Patrol

As part of our school's hallmark to train leaders to be in service of their families, communities, and Allah, we founded the school's Safety Patrol a few years ago. This year's Safety Patrol officers were being trained this past week. They will continue growing in their roles with our staff's guidance, including learning to buckle children into their car seats. We will assist them in doing so until they properly learn. Please also note that the school is not liable for any incidents which may occur after a car leaves our atrium roundabout.
Upcoming Community Events

Attend the Houston Mini Maker Faire, a family friendly fair exposing children and adults to creativity through STEM inventions, art, food, and more. Click here for more information.

Also, attend the upcoming Mayoral Candidate Forum hosted by Emerge USA. Learn more here.
