ECC and Montessori: Muffins with Moms

Every year, the ECC and Montessori classes hold a Muffins with Moms event in which parents are welcomed to attend class with their children, work with them, and then share breakfast together. This event is called "Muffins with Moms" but dads, aunts, uncles, or other relatives may come in place of the mom. (We will have a separate event titled "Breakfast with Babas" later in the year.) The Muffins with Moms for this year will be held on Friday, October 31 from about 8:15-9:15am. We look forward to seeing our moms there!
First Fundraising Gala Meeting!

It's time for us to start planning our annual ILM Academy fundraising gala! Please attend our first meeting to get the ball rolling by helping us finalize the title, volunteer to assist heading different divisions of the event, and more. This meeting will be on Thursday, October 30 at 1:30pm sharp. We will begin the meeting at 1:30pm with whoever is present. If you are unable to attend due to work or other reasons but still want to be a part of the fundraiser, please let us know by replying to this email!

Pictures Need to be Turned in by Tuesday

If your child was ill this week and therefore unable to take home or turn pictures/payments back in to the school, you have an extension to turn in the payments (and any remaining unpurchased pictures) to us by Tuesday, October 28. For anyone who hasn't yet turned in unpurchased pictures and/or payments for purchased pictures to the school, if we do not receive these by Friday morning to ship back to the company, you will have to ship the packages/payments to the company personally.
twoDeadline to Order Lunches: Sunday

Please be sure to order lunches by Sunday, October 26 for the month of November. To do so, go to the Order Lunches website and refer to this document to read instructions on purchasing lunches. You will not have the opportunity to order lunches for the month of November after this Sunday.
Pink Out Day!

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, the PTA is holding a Pink Out Day on Tuesday, October 28. Pink Out Day is meant for students to dress in something pink to show solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of Americans suffering from breast cancer every year. Additionally, students will be able to donate towards the Susan G. Komen Research Foundation at the school.

Since Tuesdays are free dress days for middle school students, they may dress in as much pink as they like, and so may ECC and Montessori students. Since 1st-5th graders must be in uniform, they may wear some articles of clothing which can be pink, such as socks, shoes, wristbands, hijaabs, neckties, bowties, belts, and so on, as long as they are still in their light blue polos and navy blue trousers.

Submit YOUR Pictures for Our School Yearbook!

Thank you for filling out the survey last week to evaluate parent interest for our first ever school yearbooks! To move forward with the creation and layout of the yearbook, our yearbook committee would like to include your input by having you submit your own pictures of your students or family at school events to be among those the committee will select from and add to the yearbook design. It's super simple and fast to do:
  1. Click here (if it doesn't automatically log you in, type 401854654 for the username)
  2. Browse to select the photos you want (please no cell phone pictures as they are poor printing quality)
  3. Enter photo info and your contact info so we can be in touch with you if needed
  4. Click "Save Details"
That's it! Submit your photos today!
Update on Contagious Illnesses

A few more students have been diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease this week and have gone home to recover. We appreciate all parents who have been informing us of their children's illnesses so that we may keep the rest of our families informed. Please be sure to let us know if your child has contracted a contagious illness so that we may inform parents accordingly. Please note though that we will always respect your child's anonymity in these matters.
