Meet the Hansens
C ancer Fighting Super Squad
In April of 2016, the Hansen family was handed news that would bring them to their knees. Four-year-old Eli was diagnosed with High Risk Stage IV Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. For the second time in less than three years, their family would be fighting cancer. Mom, Jamie, is a breast cancer survivor and the Hansens know all too well the trauma a cancer diagnosis brings.

Eli is a silly, fun, smart and very brave little boy. He wants to be a police officer when he grows up, he loves to make people happy and is an expert on all things dinosaur. He is fighting this hard battle with his mom (Jamie), dad (Chris), big sisters Ella (6th Grade) and Abby (4th Grade), big brother Owen (2nd Grade) and baby brother Alex (6 months) by his side. The family are St. Anthony on the Lake Parishioners and are involved with the St. Anthony Family Program as well as Athletics.

E li faces a long road of treatments from chemo to bone marrow transplants and surgery, and there have already been some setbacks along the way, but the Hansens remain faith-filled and courageous as they face the unknowns with God and Eli's Super Squad on their side.
It's not too late to sign up and become a member of our SAL walk team! Come walk with us on Saturday, October 15th. Registration is free until September 19th. All participants receive a free t-shirt! Remember 100% of all donations stay right here at St. Anthony to be used for tuition assistance! Register at www.catholicschoolswalk.org.

Morning Mass Reflection:
Today Fr. John Yockey encouraged us to have courage. He challenged us to have confidence in the cross of Jesus and ask Him to give us the help we need.
At the end of Mass, we had a special birthday blessing for those with an August or September birthday. The students and Mrs. Krahn were reminded that they are gifts from God and we are all so grateful they were born.
