onePick Up/Drop Off Procedure
When you come to pick up or drop off your children, please be sure to pull your car up as much as you can to allow for other cars to get into the line. Also, stay on one side of the roadway to allow for other cars who wish to park to pass. Additionally, for safety and to expedite the carpool process, please do not use your cell phone while in the carpool line. We appreciate your cooperation.

Early Dismissal on Wednesday

There will be early dismissal for all students (this includes ECC) on Wednesday, September 10 at 2pm. Please be at the school to pick up your children no later than 2:10.

There will be a few other early dismissal days throughout this academic year and will be for the purpose of allowing the school to have staff wide meetings to cover necessary topics for the productive running of the school on a day to day basis. You may keep track of these days via the academic calendar linked in the Resources section below.
If you need more car tags for additional cars or authorized pick up personnel who pick up your childr(en) regularly, simply email us to request more.

twoTeacher Contact Directory
The teacher contact directory is available on the Orbund repository and also in each of these weekly newsletters in the bottom Resources section. This directory includes all email addresses of your child(ren)'s teachers for your information.
Academic Calendar

A printed version of the academic year calendar is available in the school. Feel free to pick up a copy. You can also view this file by clicking on the link at the bottom of these weekly newsletters in the Resources section.

PTA Teacher Meet and Greet/PTA Meeting

The PTA will be hosting a teacher meet and greet event on Friday, September 12 at 8:30am. All parents are welcome to attend to meet with their child(ren)'s teachers and enjoy breakfast with fellow school parents.

The breakfast will be followed by the PTA's first meeting of the year. Please stay to attend it.
threePTA Student Lunches

PTA lunches can only be purchased via orderlunches.com once a month for that entire month. Please make note of the due dates to order lunches as noted in the calendar at the end of these weekly news emails. You may not order lunches after the deadline has passed or send in cash/check payments to purchase lunches just for the day of.

Additionally, please note that the lunches have increased in price from last year to accommodate the cost of using a third party to organize and expedite the lunch ordering process. Snacks have been eliminated from lunches this year due to the pricing constraint. Currently with the lunches, the PTA is simply trying to break even and is not making much of a profit, if at all.
Packing Snacks

Students in grades 1-7 should bring a snack to eat during class break time on a daily basis, including on days they have PTA lunches as snacks are not a part of the lunches. All elementary and middle school students get snack time around 10am daily. Please remember to send healthy snacks such as fruits, vegetables, etc. and avoid snacks high in sugar, such as puddings, cookies, cakes, etc.

PTA Back to School Drive for Refugees

The PTA is running a drive this week until Friday to collect back to school uniforms for Iraqi and Burmese refugee students. They are in need of uniforms from KG through high school such as khaki or navy blue pants, white or light blue shirts, and navy blue jumpers. These items can be lightly used. The PTA is also collecting monetary donations with which to buy additional supplies for the students. The container to collect the uniforms as well as the box to collect donations are both located in the school atrium.
fourAttendance
Tardies began being counted this week. Please remember that 2 unexcused tardies = 1 unexcused absence and that no more than 7 unexcused absences are allowed in one semester. To review our attendance policy for students, please go to page 18 of our Parent-Student Handbook linked below in the resources section.
Remind App for Emergency Mass Texting

Please download the free Remind app on your smart phone by following the instructions here. We are asking all parents to download this app so that in case of an emergency which needs to be communicated to you urgently. Examples of such an emergency include sudden school closings due to weather or other emergency events. We are moving to this form of mass texting as our past method has not been as reliable. Also, we will continue sending emails as quickly as we can as well in such situations.

Your child's teacher may also be asking you to download and use this app for classroom purposes. Please note that joining a classroom's Remind app section is separate from joining the school's. You will need to join both groups on your Remind app to receive notifications from both. Again, please follow the instructions here to help you sign up for the Remind app school wide group.

Student Council

Your 1st-7th grade child may have taken home a Student Council application form if he/she is interested in running for class rep or an executive officer position (such as president, vice president, etc.). These applications must be turned in by Wednesday and must include your signature and the teacher's signature certifying that the child is in good academic and behavioral standing. Students will be confirmed for the election ballot by Friday and will be told via a letter. You will also be informed if your child was confirmed for the election ballot via email.
