IM with Purple Silk Foundation
Instrumental had their first successful collaboration with the Purple Silk Foundation and the Great Wall Youth Orchestra this last Tuesday. 18 OSA students across emphases took part in free traditional Chinese music lessons this spring to gain college credit and the opportunity to perform with other musicians in the community. OSA IM will be expanding this collaboration next year.
APT Virtual Reality Summer Party

OSA Safety Volunteers Needed!   We are looking for parents who can take some time in their morning to help with walking students across 18th St and helping parents stay safe when they drop off their students.   Also, with the challenge of having students move between 4 OSA buildings and additional space at the Flight Deck (1540 Broadway), we are looking for a team of parent volunteers to help and monitor student movement around the school.   If you can volunteer for any of the slots below, please do by clicking 'Sign Up' on the relevant time.   Your volunteer slot:  Please check in at the OSA office so that the school is aware you're on site and ready for action.   You'll also receive an OSA visitor sticker and safety vest (depending on your volunteer slot) to speed you on your way. Thank you for pitching in with the needs of our OSA community!  OSA Administration and APT Board
State Testing
Spring is in the air, birds are chirping, and flowers are blooming, which can mean only one thing...that's right! Time for our annual CAASPP exams.   This test, formerly known as the STAR test, is an important benchmark for our students. It is VERY IMPORTANT for all students to participate fully by being present, on time, well rested, and fed.
Middle school will be testing the week of May 15-19.
Grades 10 & 11 will be testing the week of May 22 - 26.
Grades 9 & 12 do not take the test.
Please help ensure your student's success! The test is entirely online, so please send them to school with headphones (there will be a limited amount of headphones available to share for those who need them).  Participation is a very important factor for our school and we truly need everyone's help. Please make every possible effort to have your child to school early, and impress upon them that it is important to give their absolute best effort.
