Quote of the Week

"Hospitality means primarily the creation of free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place. It is not to bring men and women over to our side, but to offer freedom not disturbed by dividing lines"

- Henri Nouwen

 PRAYING FOR ONE ANOTHER

Family Prayer Room The Montclair Corps recently participated in a day of prayer and fasting. Many of you shared how God met with you whether you were able to come to the corps and engage in the prayer stations or pray from home. Those who experienced the stations at the corps have mentioned how meaningful the station on prayer for the Montclair family was to their prayer and fasting experience. In an effort to continue to encourage us to pray for one another the Prayer Room is still set up as the Montclair Family Station.

Please take some time over the next few weeks to visit - or revisit - this station. Ask the Lord to lead you to pray for someone from our family and write a note and place it on the bulletin board. Also, read the messages your brothers and sisters have written to you.

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6:18

PLEASE CONSIDER

Plans for the fall are well under way and that includes our small group ministry.  We are planning for a 4 week campaign starting September 29th and ending the week of October 20th.  We really would love for everyone from the corps to be involved in this campaign and would encourage you to invite your friends.

In order to pull that off, we are in need of some new small group leaders to facilitate groups.  You don't need any special qualifications to be a leader.  If you have a heart for people and a couple of friends, you can have a group.  Please don't think you are under qualified.  Here is a video of a churches process to pick small group leaders

Looks like if you've never murdered anyone, love God and people, and do not have a harem, you're perfect for the job.

In all seriousness, we need people who are willing to help with the overall growth of our Corps and we are asking for you to consider leading a group.  If you are interested, please speak with or contact Matt Hodgson

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Out in the wide-open spaces, we'll discover a colorful old town where all the excitement of the Wild West awaits! In SonWest, we'll celebrate all the fun of being buckaroos-so grab a sarsaparilla and join in the jamboree! There'll be snacks, games, music, crafts-and amazing true stories that point you and your kids to Jesus!

Ride with us under the deep blue skies. Feel the breezes rise through the shady purple canyons as we head out through this bright wilderness-we're traveling down the trail through the Old Testament stories of Moses to discover God's ultimate plan of salvation in Jesus, because "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).

VBS will run from July 22nd to July 26th.  The evenings will start with dinner at 5:15pm and the program will run from at 6pm to 8pm. Open to kids entering Kindergarten up to those entering 5th grade. Talk to Matt Grossmann to register.
---------------------------------------------------------

Want to help out with VBS? There are many different activities available to help with! Again, talk to Matt to discuss these opportunities!

SUNDAY WORSHIP

This Sunday Major Larry Ashcraft will preach a sermon entitled "Mission...Impossible?," using scripture found in Luke 10:1-11; 16-20:

Luke 10:

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.

5 "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' 6 If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.

8 "When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11 'Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.'

Luke 10:

16 "Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me."

17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

SEE YOU SUNDAY
