In his Lenten Message for 2015, Pope Francis asks us to "make our hearts firm" (James 5:8) and to be "merciful, attentive and generous." Embrace his call to mercy by reaching out to those in need. Be attentive to the Lenten call to prayer; be generous with your time and treasure. 

We will begin our Lenten season with the celebration of Ash Wednesday on February 18, 2015. Ashes will be distributed at St. Anne Catholic Church during each Mass on that day - 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Ashes also will be distributed from 5:30 to 5:45 p.m., in the church.

Although it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, please remember Ash Wednesday is a day of fast and abstinence. 

The season of Lent provides us an opportunity to prepare, once again, to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord through prayer, fasting and works of charity. Those three actions provide the foundation upon which our preparation for Easter is based.
