Fr. Billy's Remarks regarding
Bishop Doyle's Visit

All,

Let me begin with a huge dose of gratefulness and thanks, for your help and commitment to this congregation.  It was wonderful to recommit my faith with the confirmands, reaffirmations, and receptions to our faith tradition.  The food was wonderful, as always, and the energy was playful, kind, and inviting.  The bishop had a wonderful visit and is excited about the ministry that lays ahead for our parish.

The one piece of the bishop's visits that keep resonating with me is that we keep striving to be a place for people to have authentic interactions with a caring community.  Something that I know the church does so well, and something you have given to me and my family.  I left after the evening service feeling very invigorated and excited about our future as a church and a diocese.  There were many familiar faces and some new ones that came  to celebrate with us!

God is doing wonderful things here and I feel blessed to be a part of  this ministry.  I look forward to the summer for planning an exciting fall for our Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.

Again, I can't thank you all enough for the love and support.

Be well,

Billy Tweedie+

News from the Atrium

Dear friends,

"The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened."  - Matthew 13:33.  I wonder about that word, HID.  Isn't God mysterious?  What does He hide in us, or how does He use us as something hidden to the outside world, but with great leavening power?

Your children are a force of nature - great leavening power indeed.  I am amazed how much power we keep contained in our little atrium.  Most Sunday mornings, things are bustling with polishing and washing work, coloring and work with materials like the Last Supper.  And always we begin  time at the prayer table.  We talk to the Good Shepherd and sing to Him, and remember how much He so dearly loves each of us.

We have a young person's baptism this Sunday at the 10:30 service - Ada Haltom.  Please come support her, and encourage your child to get up close to the font when the time comes.

This Sunday, May 3rd, our Level II parent helper is Laura Tweedie at 9:15 am  If your child is younger than 6, s/he may join the Level I children at 8:30 am in the same space.  If it's their first time, do plan to have an adult stay with them for their first encounter with the space and materials.

Peace,
Kelly
