CALENDAR UPDATES

Back to School Night -

Back to School Night is Thursday, October 8th.   The evening kicks off in your student's Advisory Classroom at 6:55 p.m. with a welcome video by Dr. Chisum.  Refreshments will be provided in the lobby outside the library.  See you there!

Next PTSO Meeting is Wednesday, October 14th -

Plan now to attend the October WHS PTSO meeting, on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the WHS Library.  

Kalise Wornum, K-12 METCO Director and WHS Liaison will be conducting a workshop on "Difficult Conversations:  Talking about Race and Racism with Children and Colleagues".  

This talk is designed to help participants develop a better understanding of ways to address and respond to issues of race and racism on a personal and professional level. Participants will consider the experiences of students and families from ethnically or racially diverse backgrounds in predominantly white schools, and will examine both the barriers to/challenges of talking about race/racism/ethnicity and strategies for engaging in productive discussions.

WPS FACULTY ART SHOW

Opening Reception this Wednesday!

Ever wonder what kind of art is created by our very talented art teachers? Now is your chance to view in person! Opening reception of the Wellesley Public Schools K-12 Faculty Art Show is on Wednesday, October 7th from 3-5 PM at Wellesley High School. The show runs from October 7-28.



WELLESLEY PARENTS SUPPORTING ART STUDENTS NIGHT AT THE DAVIS MUSEUM AT WELLESLEY COLLEGE

Come for a night of fun to support the arts! 

Wednesday, October 21st from 6-8 PM. Wine and cheese will be provided. Art raffle and tour of Bunny Harvey: Four Decades. The event is free; however, donations are always appreciated for the WPSAS Scholarship Fund. RSVP by Oct 14th at www.wellesleypsas.org or find us on Facebook. 

ACATOBER CONCERT

Opening Reception this Wednesday!

It is October, which means that it is time for our Acatober Concert!   Welcome back to special guests the Tufts Amalgamates, who last year lifted the roof off the WHS auditorium! You'll also get your first glimpse of our 4 talented student-run A cappella ensembles joined by the rest of
our award-winning choral groups. Acatober is a sellout every year. The line will be long, so make sure to arrive early on October 16. $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and seniors. Although checks are accepted, please bring cash, if possible, to make ticket sales quicker and more efficient.  We're also looking for volunteers to help sell tickets and manage the crowds - you will get to see the concert and are guaranteed a seat so please contact Sharon Lowe at [email protected] if you can help - 5:30 to 7:00 pm but if you can't make it that early, 6pm is fine too.



WEF ~ THE 26th ANNUAL WELLESLEY SPELLING BEE

On Thursday, November 5th,  7pm at the Sprague School Gym  o ur community adult spelling contest and fundraising event is  back for the 26th time! This high spirited community event is right around the corner! How to catch the buzz:
  • Support the Bee --  Click Here  to make a donation or sponsor a high school, middle school or community team. Many levels are available for sponsorship f rom $125 to $2500. The Bee is our biggest fundraiser of the year!  Any amount is appreciated.
  • Bee A Team  --  Click Here   to register a team of three spellers for $500.
    Who knows whom you may be spelling against that night? Last year 55 teams participated in the Bee! Deadline for registering a team is October 16.
