PTSO Calendar Updates

We were so happy to see many of you at our PTSO meeting last Wednesday.  Many thanks to our guest speaker, Nora Wilkins, Department Head of Science and Technology. Nora presented the WHS 9-12 science and technology curriculum, shared her goals for the department and answered many questions from parents.

The Bee has been the "darling" special event in Wellesley for the last 26 years. It's a unique opportunity every year to see members of the community across all generations participate at the same event with the same level of excitement.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE


Please note: the nurses will not be available on Monday Nov 30th, which 
is the first day of winter sport practices.

Winter sport physicals are due in the Nurse's Office by November 16.  

All students athletes are required to have a current physical examination on file in the Nurse's Office before a student can tryout, practice or participate in a sport as required by the MIAA guidelines.  

The Athletic Office or individual coaches will not accept physical examination reports. 

If your student has a current physical examination on file in the Nurse's Office and it is NOT due to expire you do not need to provide another copy.

If your student's physical exam expires during the sport season, your student will no longer be able to participate until a new physical examination has been obtained and is on file in the Nurse's Office.

The High School Nurse's Office will have extended hours on Monday November 23 and Tuesday November 24 until 4 PM.  PLEASE NOTE: Late submission of physicals delays the student from any athletic activity until all the registration requirements are completed.

AWARD-WINNING FILM
"MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED"

WHS film screening and community panel discussion on Dec. 14th.

The Wellesley Public Schools (WPS) in partnership with the Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF) invite you to attend a screening of the award-winning film "Most Likely to Succeed" that will be followed by a community discussion.  The film will be screened at Wellesley High School on Monday, December 14th at 6:30 p.m.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m.  To reserve your free tickets at, CLICK HERE.

At the January 13th PTSO meeting, Kalise Wornum, Director of METCO for Wellesley Public Schools, will be conducting a workshop on how to conduct difficult conversations.   Kalise has recommended two books that might b e of interest to the community:  Difficult Conversations: How To discuss What Matters Most by Stone, Patton and Heen, and Instructional Coaching: A Partnership Approach To Improving Instruction, by Jim Knight.
