Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

I apologize for the email last night with the incorrect link for the Intent to Return. Here is the updated (working and tested) link:

This Sunday, we have two important events in the life of the school.  We kick off Catholic Schools Week 2018 by gathering with the parish community for the 11:00AM Sunday liturgy. Our Annual OPEN HOUSE is running from 9AM till 1PM, we welcome our families, perspective families, guests and parishioners. I know weekends can be packed with games, events and family time however, given the importance of this day in the life of the school, your presence is needed. Please join us this Sunday. Thank you.

All next week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week here and across the US. Catholic Schools have faced many challenges since they were first started in the 1800s. Enrollment, budget, staffing and facilities are the go to topics among principals, pastors and school commissions. Here at OLG, we are very fortunate to have strong finances and stable enrollment, plus ever improving staff and facilities. We are continually working to improve our programs and staffing through your feedback. Thank you to the 80 families who have taken our annual Parent Survey. This survey will be open for one more week in order for you to provide feedback to our School Commission and myself on some of the recent endeavors we've embarked upon and to check the pulse on how we are doing as a community.

Spreading the word of our great school at Open House on Sunday, Jan 28th is the best advertisement we can have. Remember the referral bonus program! I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Warm Clothing Drive
An 8th grade OLG student, Estella Turla, is hosting a warm clothing drive for her Juan Diego Project. Each 8th grade student chooses an organization to work for that supports a certain cause that they feel passionate about. Estella is working with Youth Care, a non-profit organization that helps homeless children, teens and young adults. She is looking for as many new or gently-used clothing items that can keep you warm such as coats, hats, gloves, socks, etc. If you want to donate, please have your child bring it into school to help their class raise the most items to win a prize!

We very much encourage everyone to contribute so you can be a part of the change that cares for the homeless youth in need.
Special Author Visit
On February 2 nd from 10:30-11:30am, in the library, we have two special guests coming to visit and share their love of books and art with our kindergarten through third grade classrooms. Kenneth and Sarah Jane Wright are the author and illustrator of the new book titled Lola Dutch. You can learn more about them from their website. Or, you can check out Sarah Janes blog. In addition, for students in grades K-3, a flier is going (or has gone) home with your student. There is an order form at the bottom of the flyer. If you are interested in purchasing a hardcover copy of the book, the cost is $19.80. Please send a check made out to Secret Garden along with the student’s name and teacher’s name. We appreciate our partnership with Secret Garden Bookstore for bringing this event to our school.
