Dear OLG Families,
Lent continues, with only a few two more weeks until Palm Sunday. Where does the time fly? Last week I focused on how Lent is a time of
turning. We, as a community, turned-up bigtime in the last week! Turnout at
Auction was great, with more than $110,000 in overall income, including more than $20,000 raised in our Fund-a-Need. Missed the Auction? Follow the link to find out more and to take part in the
Fund-a-Need!
Last night we also had a great turn-out at our
State of the School, with over 100 in attendance (+ 40 more kiddos in childcare). We celebrated our successes of the year, shared in some revelations from our Jan. Parent Survey, informed of our financial stability, and looked ahead to next year. One new announcement is our "On Time" registration incentive of a $50 discount for each family who is fully
registered by March 28th (online registration completed + full payment + signed student profile returned to office). Details and more information is available
here and on our admissions website
here.
I feel blessed to be at OLG at this time and place, with you, our families and staff. If you missed the
State of the School or where present and still have questions, I invite you to come and meet with me. Let us
turn.

ROARING '20S AUCTION
A tremendous THANK YOU to Kat Cirar and Alder Kuhn for producing an exciting and successful auction in our very own Walmesley Center last Saturday night! A “Roaring Good Time” was had by all. It takes a special group of organized and dedicated people to put on such a big event, so a huge thank you also to the Auction committee and all of the volunteers! We couldn’t do the biggest fund raiser of the year without you! You are all AMAZING and much APPRECIATED! Thank you to all of the families and friends who attended the auction, raised their paddles, created classroom projects and donated fantastic auction items – you are the berries!
This year’s Fund A Need item supports our Outdoor Spaces. Couldn’t make it to the auction, but still want to contribute? Take a look at this

Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl: Encounter Andrise
We encounter Andrise, a teacher in Haiti who knows the importance of forming young people who will give back to the community and their country. Reflect on the role teachers have played in bringing you closer to God and your community. How can you support those, worldwide, who are forced to flee their homes to find safety or better opportunities? Visit
crsricebowl.org for more. Looking for a way to bring Rice Bowl to life in your family? Click on the “Families” tab at the top of website for a Lenten Family Kit.
St. James Lenten Evening of Reflection
All are invited to attend the final Monday Evening of Reflection on

Help Put on the March Community Meal
New to OLG? Looking for a way to plug in? Interested in service? Like food? All the above? Through service, community, and delicious food, we find joy and life in one another. The Community Meal happens each month at OLG and strives to provide a free meal for anyone in the greater community who wishes to attend. This month’s Community Meal is Sunday,
March 25 in the Walmesley Center/Gym and we need your help to make it happen! Can you help setup (9:45-11am), serve the meal (12:30-2pm), and/or cleanup (1:30-3:30pm)? We are also in need of homemade or store-bought desserts to share with our guests (drop off any time after 9:45am).
If you're able to help, please
sign up to volunteer or by contact
Colleen.

Urge Congress to Protect Vulnerable Girls’ Access to Education
Pope Francis, speaking about human trafficking, calls on us to
"unite our efforts to free victims and stop this increasingly aggressive crime." Today, we have an opportunity to come together to support those most vulnerable to trafficking. You can help protect vulnerable girls from being trafficked by calling on your Senators to co-sponsor the Protecting Girls’ Access to Education in Vulnerable Settings Act.
Children who are refugees are more vulnerable to human trafficking, early marriage and forced labor. Providing opportunities for education is one way to reduce their risk of being trafficked. Raise your voice in support of access to education for vulnerable girls by going to
Catholics Confront Global Poverty for a pre-written, editable message.
