Jog-a-thon...
May the 4th be With us all as we run, jog, and make our way around the field. I know how excited students are, I am too! Don't forget the prize for costumes, but please leave lightsabers and blasters at home. If students have a mask for their costume, they will be asked to take it off while running for safety reasons. Weather
force-cast looks good, and we are going to have an excellent time outside tomorrow!
May is also the month that we have many changes come forth. Christ is Risen, flowers bloom, babies are born, and teachers make their next 18-months decisions. In recent weeks I have updated you on our enrollment figures and newly open positions in the Early Learning Center. Rest assured, I'm not going anywhere! But this is the most difficult time of year as staff make decisions and we announce comings and goings. The good news is that by announcing early in May, we are ahead of the game and have time to find the best folks to come to Guadalupe. We are blessed to have excellent staff because of you, the supportive families and students who make OLG the strongest school around. Here is a totality of all our staffing changes as we look toward next school year:

- Congratulations to our newest Guad: Samuel Hoch Cushman. More details and another cute pic below. Mrs. Hoch is currently on maternity leave and we look forward to her return this fall on a part -time basis.
- Welcome returning Mrs. Zbaracki. She is currently leading our 2nd grade class during Mrs. Hoch's leave, and will also be job sharing with Mrs. Hoch all throughout next year! We are blessed to have such professionals and great consistency and teamwork with our 2nd graders next year.
- Ms. Ellis has announced her return to Maui at the end of this school year to continue her work with whales and education on the islands. We have been blessed with her excellent work shaping the middle school science curriculum. By announcing this opening now, we are excited to be ahead of the public school postings and have plenty of time to find an excellent replacement for such a dedicated teacher. We will miss you Ms. Ellis. Position is posted.
- Unfortunately, Mrs. Heiger is also leaving OLG at the end of this year. She is much loved and will be missed, but due to family circumstances she is finding it is also her time to say goodbye to OLG. We will miss you Mrs. Heiger! Middle school families, I have sent you a separate email with more info direct from Mrs. Heiger.
- I'm please to announce Ms. Hobbs will be looping with her current 5th grade class up into middle school. This will provide stability in the middle school as she will be the new 7th grade homeroom and Middle School Social Studies expert. Ms. Hobbs is an excellent teacher, gifted in Social Studies, who has already been working with Student Council for years and will make for a very smooth transition. This will leave a vacancy in the 5th grade. Position is posted.
- And last but not least, another addition to our staff comes from one of our very dedicated volunteers in our building, Mrs. Bridget Lawler. I'm pleased to announce that she has agreed to join our staff next year as a Math Support Specialist, providing continued and increased support for math in our K-5 classrooms, as well as teaming with Ms. Savio on school-wide math endeavors.
We are also hiring to fill our expanding Early Learning program, and immediately a temporary/leave replacement for EDC. Click

It is always full of emotions that we wish our staff well on their journeys. But we aren't saying our goodbyes completely... we still have
many weeks ahead of us! Staff are all dedicated to carrying out the rest of this year with full force and resolution to uphold our high standards of learning! Again, it is with the joy of the risen Christ that the springtime brings us new life, new energy, and fantastic new opportunities. Rest assured we will find fabulous staff to fill our vacancies! I know from the reception I have received this year, we as a community do truly live out our beliefs, to be
welcoming to all!

Welcome baby Samuel Hoch Cushman!
Born at 10:31pm on April 21st, 7 lbs.7 oz. and 19 in. long. We are so grateful for all the prayers and support the OLG community has shared with us over the past months. We feel incredibly blessed to part of such an amazing community and we can't wait for you to meet Samuel!

Hello Parents from OLG,
Wow it is already May. Time is flying by!! It is always a pleasure to teach Spanish at OLG. I feel very blessed to be part of this community and I love teaching Spanish to your children.
Let’s see what your kiddos did for Cultural night -- a big Gracias to Maria Gonzales-Bravo for another year organizing Cultural Night for OLG. She asked me to help her by making cultural art projects from some of the 21 Spanish-speaking countries. I was able to work with all the grade levels to make fun art projects that every student enjoyed making and learned a little about the culture of the project...

A few reminders for tomorrow’s fun rebellion run:
- Tomorrow is a free dress day. We challenge runners to dress in their galactic best! Wear Jedi attire or dress as a member of the Dark Side….Just be sure the runner can run. Please leave all lightsabers/blasters at home.
- Wear RUNNING shoes.
- Bring a water bottle with your name on it to the field.
- While not in the forecast, rain is always a possibility in Seattle. Layering clothing is a good option or bring extra clothes.
- If the sun is out, please put sunscreen on before coming to school. You may also wear hats and sunglasses.
- Turn in pledge sheets (both white and yellow copies) to teacher before the run! No pledge sheet, no prizes.

Guadalupe Men's and Women's Adult Softball
OLG has an Adult CYO Men’s and Women’s 21 years and older softball team. We are looking for experienced players to join us for our 8-game season. Games are played at St. Bernadette’s Field in Burien on Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m., starting in June thru July and a one-day Saturday elimination tournament the second week of August. Please contact Justin Shaw at 206-898-3141 for more information. There is a $50/person fee and all the proceeds go to CYO sports. We play other local Catholic parishes and are divided into North and South consisting of 10 teams each.

Come Celebrate The Blessed Virgin Mary Family Faith Sunday Learning Center!
On May 6th, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am, we wish to invite all families to come and participate in our last Family Faith Sunday for this year. We will meet in the Walmesley Center Gym, where families will have lots of opportunities to participate in fun learning centers that will help us to know Mary better and learn to live more like her.
