Greetings!

We had a busy and lively market day last Saturday - and are looking forward to another one this week!

We had over 30 people participate in the Garden Planning workshop with Fall Creek Gardens! How encouraging it is for us to see so many of you interested in planning your gardens and growing your own food. We look forward to more workshops of this nature in the future, including seed starting in March!

Thank you as well to all who participated in the yoga fundraising class, through which $133 were raised for the Eat Well Initiative.  Those dollars, as well as your weekly Power of One donations, help sustain the voucher programs at IWFM that enable individuals to purchase nutrient-dense, whole foods. Together we are providing the access and opportunity for everyone to Eat Well.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Be well,
Laura, Molly, and the IWFM Team

Conclusion of the IWFM Lunch Box Challenge

February 25, 10am

West Wing of Indy City Market

Join us on Saturday, February 25 for the conclusion of the IWFM Lunch Box Challenge! We'll have guests demonstrating their own easy and fun packed lunches to inspire you and get some creative juices flowing. Market customers are encouraged to bring their own lunches to join in the fun.

Americans aren't the only ones who pack lunches. The Japanese culture is one that celebrates "eating with your eyes first" through bento, a single-portion packed meal that is a fixture in their cuisine. To learn more about the art and tradition of bento click here and listen to the 28:42-34:26 segment.

 NapTown Chickens Workshop and Demonstration

February 18, 10am

West Wing of the City Market

Join Andrew Brake, founder of NapTown Chickens, for a free workshop that will address the joys and benefits of keeping chickens in the city. This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the ins and outs of keeping chickens, as well as one to ask Andrew any questions you may have. Andrew will be bringing a special guest with him to help answer your questions! That same day, Andrew will be hosting a chicken-keeping workshop at the Indiana State Fair, that we encourage you to attend as well!
