From the Rector
Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Mary's,
There are hardly words to express the sadness and devastation that our brothers and sisters in Texas and Louisiana are facing. Thousands of people have been evacuated, lost their homes and some have lost their lives. Many have been rescued from the floodwaters, many are still waiting for help. If you are like me you are feeling there must be something we can do to reach out to all those in need at this critical time. In fact there is a very concrete way we can help. This hard hit area needs our financial resources.
This Sunday I invite you to give generously to help the people in Texas and Louisiana by donating to the "Episcopal Relief and Development Fund" (ERD). This is one way that we can give knowing that our money will go directly to help the people in need. This Sunday as we pass the offering plate you are invited to write a check to St. Mary's and put "ERD" on the memo line, or you can give cash. Our open plate offering of cash and any donations not marked "pledge" will be given to ERD to assist the people in Texas/Louisiana. Please consider giving to our brothers and sisters who stand in great need. To view a message from our Presiding Bishop Michael Curry regarding giving to ERD, please click here.
See you all on Sunday
Fran

Congratulations Andy Wasilk
Congratulations to our very own Andrew Wasilk, who was presented with his Eagle Award last Saturday at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church in Cary, IL. The event was attended by his proud parents and family members, as well as members of Scout Troup 957. Rev. Fran was invited to deliver the invocation and the closing benediction. The Eagle Award is the highest award in scouting. Congratulations Andy - St. Mary's is so proud of you.
