From the Rector
Dear Friends and Parishioners of St. Mary's,
We are now in the midst of the holiest time of our church calendar as we observe Holy Week. A full schedule of our services is found in this newsletter and I hope that you will be with us as we observe and remember the Last Supper, the Way of the Cross, and then finally the Glorious Resurrection of Christ. I hope that you will experience the hope of the resurrection in your life, and the new life that Christ beckons each one of us to embrace. My prayer is that you will come to understand in a very real sense that all despair, hopelessness, grief and death itself have been conquered; the tomb is indeed empty and Christ has Risen! May you experience the hope of this reality in your life this Easter season.
All children, along with their friends and those young at heart, are invited to the annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. There will be games, activities, and an egg hunt for all ages. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos. Come and join the fun.
I wish you and your family and loved ones a blessed holy week and Easter.

Summer Lunch Program Volunteers Needed:
High School Age and Older
The
Crystal Lake Summer Lunch Program
was started three years ago by volunteers with the help of the Crystal Lake Park District, in conjunction with the Northern Illinois Food Bank and the Illinois Dept. of Education. Everyday,
Monday through Friday
, from the closing of school in June to the opening in August, children from Crystal Lake, ages 18 and under, are served
free lunches at Ladd Park, from 11:30 - 12:30
. Lunch is followed with
activities until 1:00
. On days that are raining, or the temperatures are over 95 degrees, the program is held at Vineyard Christian Church.
These hours in Ladd Park are a taste of peace on earth. The children are happy and cooperative; the parents are friendly and grateful; the volunteers are generous and motivated; and the community is supportive in every way. You may volunteer for as many days as you wish; we will work around your schedule. If you love children, this is a great opportunity!
