From the Rector
Dear Parishioners & Friends of St. Mary's,
In mid-July I received a call from a woman who attends our community dinner. She wanted to tell us how wonderful our meal is and how grateful she is for the hospitality and good food. She went on to say that she has been bringing friends and they would never be able to have a night out like the one we providing, and they are grateful. I think this call speaks volumes about how successful our Community Meal Program has been so far. Our goal right from the start has been to offer hospitality and great food to the wider community, connecting with others beyond ourselves. We want to change lives and be in relationships with others, and I believe we are doing just that. I want to thank all of you who have attended the meal, volunteered your time, and to all of you who have made a monetary donation. Our meal program ministry is a little over six months old and we are off to a great start. Last month we served 66 dinners and received enough in free-will donations to cover our expenses. In addition, we continue to engage volunteers from a wider community who are having a great time being a part of this ministry. Our next meal is Saturday, August 19
th
, so mark your calendars!
See you all on Sunday,
Fran +

For the 6th consecutive year, Crystal Lake vendors have pledged a donation to the Food Pantry with every cool treat sold on their participating days. Support from these establishments and their customers enables the Food Pantry to purchase food and perishable items, and raises the awareness of hunger in our community.
