News from The Episcopal Cafe
From the Rector

Dear Friends and Parishioners of St. Mary's,

Now that summer is upon us I hope that you will find some time to slow down and take time out for rest relaxation, visiting family and friends, as well as time for prayer, mediation and time to enjoy this beautiful weather which is such a gift to us.   This summer "Lawn Chair Theologians" is back by popular demand. This is a fun way to meet people, have great conversation and enjoy sitting outside on our beautiful land. You can read more about this offering in this Newsletter. Our first gathering will be held Wednesday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m.

Please mark your calendar for our next Community Meal on Saturday June 17. Dinner is served from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to have a wonderful dinner out with family and friends as well as a great opportunity to gather with people from the community.   If you wish to help out with the dinner please contact Tracy Higgins . A free will offering will accepted for those who wish to a make a donation.

On Sunday, June 18th we will hold a special coffee hour reception in honor of Steve & Betty Buenning and Betty's mom, Ann McCraw following the 10:00 a.m. service.  As many of you know, Steve and Betty are selling their house and packing as they prepare to move to Maryland to be near their daughter Amy, son-in-law Kevin, and granddaughter Meg. The Buenning's have been a part of St. Mary's since 1983 and they raised their children Amy and Mark in this parish. Later, Betty's mother Ann became a member when she moved here from Texas. Ann, who lives at ManorCare, will also be moving to be with the family. They will be missed by many, especially those who have forged wonderful friendships with them over the years. The Buenning's will still be around over the summer but they hope to be in Maryland by early August. With all the vacations, and comings and goings of people in the parish, we wanted to make sure that we had a chance to celebrate with them and wish them well as they prepare for this next exciting chapter of their life.  All are welcome to join us on Sunday, June 18th following the 10:00 a.m. service for this celebration.

See you all this Sunday.
